Are you serious? How come no one has ever heard anything about this before?
because it's not Erie. even if there are a few clips from Erie, as speculated, who cares? there is nothing significant about a forgotten music video by a mostly forgotten band. nothing. not newsworthy or noteworthy in any way.

Speak for yourself. I've lived here my whole life and love all things Erie. I find the prospect that there may be an Erie scene or two in this video extremely fascinating to behold.

No one is forcing you to read this thread.

its not Erie. it's also not fascinating unless you have absolutely nothing going on in your life.

I'll speak for myself. This video has nothing fascinating about it. I have to agree that it's not Erie. Also, the 'Chris Hughes' prototype is very clearly one of the band members. google a band photo. no prospects for you.

Wow! This is so cool. My co-worker showed me the first half of this neat video this morning. He found it on YouTube; it's from 1986. Check out the Erie beach scenes from Presque Isle State Park! And what about that place where all the cars are parked? Is that the parking lot of the old Peninsula Inn? My co-worker also thinks that the black-haired kid in the video (the one with the sunglasses) is Alyson Amendola's older brother.

Can anyone add any insight on people or scenes in the video? Has the regional chamber seen this? I can't wait to get home when I can watch the whole thing.
Get Real! Those are obviously Bostonian Beaners from that era. You know the type... presently 40ish... balding... graying... can't keep it up.

This is an interesting one--and a little weird to boot. I think maybe there is more to this than meets the eye.
Although I think it's clear that most of the video probably wasn't shot in Erie, a few scenes look strangely reminiscent of Presque Isle. But that's not all... Take a look at the scene with the car backing out of the driveway; look at the houses in the background. That's a section of South Shore Drive, my friends. How do I know? Because I'm looking at the house my uncle owned on that street until 1977.
And then there is something else--something I can't believe anyone else caught. There are two young 18-20 year old boys in that video. They appear in a number of scenes. Whether one is Alyson Amendola's brother I can't say. But take a close look at the one with the straighter black hair (he's in a light shirt in some of the scenes).
Do you know who that is?
That kid is a dead ringer for Chris "Red" Hughes, circa 1985/86. Hughes would have been 18 or 19 years old at the time. I'm thinking the video was shot in '85, right before Hughes left town for the University of Maryland.
Both my wife and I saw John Cafferty and Beaver Brown Band perform as they made their way through our region doing some shows in the mid-'80s. Keep in mind that bands don't always shoot an entire video at one locale. They often use footage from a handful of spots.
This video and its previously unknown local significance may be one of the finds of the year.
Wow...That does look and Chris Hughes and Erie beaches back then.

Good find!

Maybe you're the one who is stupid. I've known Chris Hughes for many years. That picture looks very much like him and some of the scenes are amazingly similiar to Presque Isle beaches of that era.

Perhaps instead of being a jerk you should examine the video closer.

A dude at work mentioned this thread to me. It sure wasn't easy to find.

I dunno....A few scenes do sure look like they could have been Erie at Presque Isle back in 86'

How do we know they aren't?

And the one guy looks a lot like Hughes and how he looked back then. No freakin doubt on that.
