Colorado Woman Who Championed Obamacare Loses Insurance Plan
November 8, 2013 4:12 PM
DENVER (CBS4)- President Barack Obama is apologizing to Americans who are losing their current health insurance plans. Millions of people are getting cancellation notices, including about 250,000 Coloradans.
For years the president said that those who like their current plan would be able to keep it, but it turns out that’s not the case.
In order to comply with the Affordable Care Act insurance companies have had to cancel millions of policies, forcing people to find new, and in many cases, more expensive coverage on the exchange.
The Colorado Division of Insurance says 250,000 people in Colorado alone have lost their policies in the last few months.
Cathy Wagner says she isn’t political and has never written a lawmaker, much less the president, but with Obamacare she felt compelled.
“I really just wanted him to know … I was so hopeful that this plan was going to move us forward, but in fact I think it’s moving us backward,” Wagner said.
Wagner and her husband retired early. She was a nurse for 35 years and championed Obamacare, until she received a letter from her insurance company saying it was canceling her policy.
“I was really shocked … all of my hopes were sort of dashed,” Wagner said.“’Oh my gosh President Obama, this is not what we hoped for, it’s not what we were told.’“
She was shocked further to learn that for the same coverage she would pay 35 percent more and have a higher deductible.
“Our premium for next year is going up to over $1,000 a month for two of us and we’re two fairly healthy individuals,” Wagner said.
“This is yet the most recent issue,” said U.S. Rep. Diana DeGette, D-Colorado.
DeGette sits on the committee that oversees Obamacare. She insists the Wagners are the exception, not the rule.
“As we work through all of this I think that a year from now people overall are going to be very, very happy with the way the Affordable Care Act is working,” DeGette said.
But Wagner isn’t convinced. For the first time she’s considering going without health insurance.
“The whole plan was to get everyone enrolled so there’s a larger risk pool and our costs go down,” she said.“Wow, not at all what we’re seeing.”
The president says the administration will do everything it can to help people who are in a difficult situation because of the cancellations, although he hasn’t said what that help will be.
Nationwide at least 3.5 million people have received the cancellation notices.

if folks would have shed the 'pixie dust' of Obama and looked at it objectively and listened to objective reliable sources--viewed what its like in europe which is what this mimics the truth would have been known...the congressman that shouted out during Obama's speech when first elected knew early on that "You Lie"..be alert to future lies and look at his past lies--Benghazi, Fast and Furious, Solyndra, etc.
there will be more but he won't need to lie and sell the public--he is going straight to EXECUTIVE order route for his fundamental transformation towards marxism/socialism

Another useful idiot awakens.
Perhaps they will learn that government is there to only benefit itself.

And the Congresswoman just keeps on lying about it. The arrogance of these Democrat Bolsheviks is amazing. They are in total denial. Obama needs to be impeached for lying to the American people in order to get legislation passed. This is far worse than what Nixon did. The Democrats are aiders and abettors of the criminal in the White House. And oh yes, Hillary is even worse but first things first. Obama must go.

She deserve it. An idiot like her, being a nurse? and voting for obama? yeh I say she deserve it.

Good - Glad another obama supporter is suffering - the problem is that those of us with common sense who didn't vote for this idiot have to suffer to. Anyone who thought that insuring tens of millions of the uninsured would not cause the loss of insurance and the skyrocketing of premiums is plain stupid.
#7 Nov 9, 2013
Notice how the Obammunists are no longer saying, "well, at least the uninsured will be covered now!"? That's because the uninsured won't be covered: The Congressional Budget Office projects that 31 million Americans will still lack basic health insurance a decade from now. By that time, we will have run up at least another trillion in national debt, and Americans will have spent untold additional trillions on inflated insurance premiums, all to accomplish nothing more than providing "free" contraception to the likes of Sandra Fluke.

Well, Nurse Nancy. You supported Obamacare. I suspect even after all the warnings we had, and even after Nancy Pelosi said that we would have to pass Obamacare to find out what was in it. We are finding out, that is for sure. And I don't know, but it would be reasonable to assume that you (and perhaps your husband) also voted for dear leader Obama--the prophet of Hope and Change. Well, I guess that Changey thing didn't work so well for you, did it? I also notice that your local Dem Congresswoman is trying to cover for our liar-in-chief ("You can keep your insurance policy if you like it") by saying you are the exception and that we will all just LOVE Obamacare when it is fully implemented. Sure we will...just like you love what has happened to you under Obamacare. I guess the situation can be summed up this way: you asked for it, and you got it. Unfortunately for you, you bought into their pack of lies, so now you have to live with it.

"...this is not what we hoped for..."
Heh heh heh! Those who sell "hope", invite you to project all your hopes and dreams onto them, as if they actually embodied them.
Everyone has entirely unique hopes and dreams, and yet liberals are too stupid to grasp this patently obvious reality. So easily manipulated and conned. Almost no effort required.
Just make yourself a blank screen, and invite them to project their hopes and dreams onto you. And earn their votes. A nation of children.

Cathy Wagner: Here's a real tragedy for you ...
The president's claim was best dismantled in this week's Wall Street Journal commentary by San Diego resident Edie Littlefield Sundby, who has survived stage 4 gallbladder cancer for seven years (the five-year survival rate is less than 2 percent) but will now lose the excellent insurance provider ($1.2 million paid out so far) and doctors (in San Diego, at Stanford University and in Houston) who have made her battle successful to this point. And the president's backers had the gall to tell voters in 2012 that Republican nominee Mitt Romney let people die from cancer.”

The pathetic truth is she will vote for the same people again.
She will believe the same lies, again and again.
My wife is from the UK, they have socialized health care.
They ration care. My wife's uncle has been told the
cancer treatment that was working for him is no longer
available for him. I hope this fool lives long enough
to have a member of her family rationed. You cannot
appreciate the anger you feel until it happens to your
family. A death panel is a death panel.

Dear Comrade Wagner,
As the Glorious People's Revolution Moves Forward proletarians like yourself will necessarily become casualties, but please understand that this is for the greater good of the Collective. Count yourself lucky that we're not in the actual insurrection stage, and hopefully if Comrade Obama-Jarret and The Party keep us Moving Forward by using legal and legislative means, you and your husband will be able to continue living in relative decadent luxury. Better to pay more each month than be humping the high country of Colorado carrying supplies for the People's Army, right? Besides, when Comrade Obama-Jarret finishes debasing the filthy dollar and finishes "fundamental transformation" of America, money will be irrelevant.
In Revolutionary Solidarity,

I'm 70 and on Medicare (Thank God!) I have always followed the rules and bought health insurance on my own. It was often hard finding an affordable policy. In the last few years prior to Medicare, I discovered that by taking two classes at a local community college, I could purchase student health insurance. The benefits were better than what I was paying BXBS for. My premiums dropped to $1300 a year and I had a $250 deductible and better coverage for lab/prescript and doctor's visits. My BXBS at the time was $319 a month/$1500 deductible and I had a $25 copay at the doctor. It took a lot of research to maintain health coverage but I never went without it. I have no sympathy for those who didn't purchase insurance but chose to spend their money in other ways.
I voted for Obama in first election (first D vote since I began voting) but for Romney second time around. It took less than a week after his election to tell me that I was wrong to vote for Obama.
I'm sorry but all you people with cancelled policies are going to have to pay more for those people who never had insurance and who will now have the same benefits as you do because you will be paying FOR THEM! I am tired of paying for the stupid and lazy. Up until now, they have gone to the emergency room or done without. Let them continue and let us have the insurance that we have paid for as responsible citizens along the way.
Another consequence of Obamacare is that all those new insurees will be fighting for an appointment with YOUR doctor that you have gone to over the years. Your care will suffer because they will all be going in for free as subsidized patients often paying NOTHING for premiums or care through tax subsidies.
This whole Obamacare is unfair. It is the same policy for everyone only you get to choose the level of what you feel comfortable with deductibles, copays and premiums. Some of the old policies didn't cover what Obama is requiring all policies to cover now. People were happy with those policies as they knew some things weren't covered and they didn't think they would need them. Now Obama is forcing everyone to take and pay for things they don't want or need.
I hope Obama and Moochelle have a very nice multi-million dollar VACATION IN HAWAII because the rest of us paying for them and to ship their dogs on separate planes and an extra plane to carry leaden limos and SUV's will be the burden of families who not only have to pay for these two pieces of worthless s$it but for health care for everyone else

Elder, you are not immune. There is a huge pool of money in Medicare just ripe for the taking. How do you think that they will fund the ACA. Be prepared for a shocker when they start pilfering Medicare to pay for the ACA. Remember Al Gore's "Medicare lockbox." Google Al Gore -- Medicare Lockbox.
Don't think that you will escape via Medicare. They will come for you soon enough.

Lady.......you think this is bad? Just wait until the Employer Mandate hits 1 January 2015. Of course, Obama delayed it until AFTER the 2014 Elections. Wonder why? Oh yea.....they want Botoxlosi (Pelosi) back as House Speaker, Democrats controlling all of Congress, so they can have 'Liberals gone Wild' 24/7. And in 2016?.........welcome the Hilda Beast.......President Billary Clinton. And.... all employer based Health care Plans (many the so-called Cadillac Plans), will be cancelled. The Companies will find it WAY cheaper to give you a few thousand dollars a year (stipend), and say "here....go find a Plan on the Government Exchanges. See...we are still providing health care". They save millions/billions in the mean time. Why not? It's a good business decision. Yea, but now we are ALL on the governments teet. Just as they planned. Socialism/Marxism at work. Sadly, I doubt any of our Useful Idiot citizens, and the 33 Million new illegal Alien voters will ever see the light. We are going the way of Rome. There may be a miracle still to be had, but it is not looking good.

Some comforting words for poor Mrs Wagner:
“I think Barack knew that he had God-given talents that were extraordinary.
He knows exactly how smart he is.... He knows how perceptive he is.
He knows what a good reader of people he is. And he knows that he has
the ability — the extraordinary, uncanny ability — to take a thousand
different perspectives, digest them and make sense out of them, and I
think that he has never really been challenged intellectually.... So
what I sensed in him was not just a restless spirit but somebody with
such extraordinary talents that had to be really taxed in order for him
to be happy.... He’s been bored to death his whole life. He’s just
too talented to do what ordinary people do.” Valerie Jarrett

There are still those out there... No matter the problems with the website.... no matter how many are losing their insurance... no matter how many jobs are lost... or hours cut... are still blaming the Republicans for this. They blame the tea party... and racists... and the Rich... They blame anyone else they can think of. Because they can't wrap their minds around the fact that their Dear Leader did this to them... on purpose... to crash the private insurance market. In a way, I feel for them... But they have only themselves to blame.

She's just another "bump in the road", along with the Benghazi murders. As H.L. Mencken wrote, "Democracy is the theory that the common people know what they want, and deserve to get it good and hard." And Wagner and millions of other Obama voters are getting it. They don't like it? Too bad. They have no one to blame but themselves.
H.L. Mencken also predicted the rise of an Obama. Of course, he actually wrote it when he thought America would elect Huey Long, who was cast in the same mold as Obama and sprang from the same type of Democratic, corrupt machine.
Mencken said, "As democracy is perfected, the office of president represents, more and more closely, the inner soul of the people. On some great and glorious day the plain folks of the land will reach their heart’s desire at last and the White House will be adorned by a downright moron."
Well, here's the moron!

The good news is- they're going to get the website working. The better news is- this idiot and rest of us get to pay for strangers healthcare coverage- including some who might not even be in the country....yet, that is. Most of us already knew this. However, this moron, her goofball husband and all her liberal friends thought someone else were going to pay for it. Isn't it great when people have a dream and send you the bill for it?
