The clothes all smell and the workers are rude. They must get the clothes from the Salvation Army across the street.

I agree with Nancy, clothes are very ugly and out dated. I took some nice clothes to them recently and they said they were outdated and people wouldn't wear them! Since when did khaki's and jeans become outdated? Also had some designer purses, but they couldn't "authenticate" them. I will just donate my clothes and get more of a credit from salvation army than I would have from selling them. Will not shop Clothes Mentor anymore!

Good for you because the world doesn't care what the hell you do with you outdated stretch pants.

I happen to love Clothes Mentor. Everyone in the store is very nice. I know how much work they do to look through everything that comes in. They have to be careful about what they purchase for the store because unlike regular consignment shops, if an item doesn't sell, the store gets penalized. As for authenticating purses, there are certain things that a authentic purse has that would make them authentic. If an employee can't find some of those items then they cannot purchase them for the store. The employees at Clothes Mentor are extremely hard working and do everything they can to make the store a nice, welcoming environment.

The cash/price they offered to buy for my above and beyond beautiful clothing (NEW with tags CAbi, Anthropologie) was INSULTING. I will not step in the store again to buy or 'try' to sell. 'Deer in the headlights' gals. Sadly, I have a half of closet of cool stuff like this but will resort to eBay.

Do not go to the Anderson, Ohio Clothes Mentor! They gave me $70 for 26 items so about 2.69 each. They do not break down what they pay for each item. This included a few dresses and a few purses, one being new with the stuffing in it. I forgot to take it out when I gave them 5bags of items. I was the only one in there and I felt she was screwing me over because I had brought so much in. She threw the money at me and said sign this and that was it. They don't show you what they take. It was my own fault I didn't look.
If you go to sale take a little in at a time and make sure you look at what they take and compare it with your receipt and DON'T GO TO ANDERSON. GO TO WEST CHESTER, OHIO.

I totally agree about the rudeness and the condition of the items that they had in the Wilmington, NC store. I took 5 basic black J.Crew short dresses that were on the J.Crew website last year in the wedding section, and the girl at the store told me that they were over 2 years old. Only 3 of the dresses were worn at my daughter's Oct, 2012 wedding.
I went back in and told her that the dresses were on the J.Crew website last year, and then she said that they do not do well with formal dresses. These are sleeveless, short basic black dresses in small sizes, 2 never worn.

I will never go back to this store, and will gladly donate my items to Vintage Values in Wimington.

Do not waste your time there.

"small sizes" there's the problem. Either stretch pants or Bertha Butt sizes are the interest of 2nd hand bottom feeders.

I was NOT impressed when I went to sell at Clothes Mentor. Snobby people. I decided to give it a try after reading many negative reviews. They wanted to give me $6 for a pair of new designer leather & suede boots and a Brighton small purse new. Lost my interest.

Spoke to clothes mentor over phone, and asked if they took Gucci. The girl who answered the phone said they can't quote a price without seeing the item, and that I had to bring it in, and then she would be able to quote a price. When I got there and they saw I was african american, the girl who I had spoken with on the phone became very rude. She would barely acknowledge me, and then after she ran her filthy hands all over my item, she then said " I need to see the authenticity certificate for your item, because I cannot authenticate designer items." I told her why would I have a certicate of authenticity for something I bought five years ago. I then asked her, do you have any reciepts from 5 years ago? Even worse a white woman was leaving a coach wallet and she wasn't asked for any authenticity certificate. All in all, just stay away from this disgusting company, and patronize long standing consignment shops. Clothes Mentor will not be around long, with their poor customer service and rudeness.

I don't blame them. They know that WIC and welfare can't cover the cost for ya. Try Cobbs next to New on Parade. That is more their style!

Better off donating to the Salvation Army or Goodwill and just receive the "payment" of feeling that warm feeling inside.

At least I can afford Gucci,! And when ebay improves it's sanctions on non paying bidders, I would gladly sell there again. Don't speak on what you don't know. I would never buy anything from clothes mentor, I would only sell there. The only reason I went there was because of their ad on the radio, which said they wanted high end brands such as gucci fendi and LV. And for the racist asshole who said I was on wic or welfare.......umm that's you, most white people are on welfare, that's why you know so much about it. Dickshithaus your name pretty much explains why you are so effed up so I see that why you have nothing and depend on wic and welfare to survive....dick do the world a favor and kill yourself, the world would be a much better place.
Don't let the trash get the best of you. We are all going to be on food stamps, etc. now that the G.E. thing has gone down. And we will all be lucky if we can afford Salvation Army clothes! Get a clue people. This town is screwed!
