That restaurant was overpriced, under portion, and the food was mediocre at best. It was a matter of time. Hopefully the next owner will offer good food nice portions at a decent price. Took my family there and I was embarrassed nobody liked there food and it was late and cold. Never went back.

The food was fine, the prices were right. Unfortunately this town is full of cheap people who want to stuff their faces at Wal Mart prices. It was a decent place to go have a bite to eat before an event downtown.

Maybe if you're from Girard. That food sucked. Get out Erie once in a while.

And therein is the problem. How many nights a year are the Warner and Civic Center dark? There simply are not enough 'quality' events downtown to support a business that requires daily patronage to survive. Is it unfair to tie this issue in any way to the number of years behind schedule the Warner renovations are, and how many Warner events a year are lost to not having the stage work completed?

Private investment to create synergy surrounding public investment only works when both sides hold up their respective ends. And the fact that the convention center was located in an isolated location, with no synergistic benefit doesn't help either.

Could't agree more.cheep and more attitude. Between hockey games, concerts, play's it's never been better in downtown Erie. Convention center will improve in time especially with the Gaf site being developed. A little more police presence is needed but in whole the downtown is doing well.

Somebody will buy the business and start over at that location. The location is prime, the interior atmosphere is great - it just needs good food and a thought out business plan.

This is Erie, a low income town, no jobs, you expect people to demand Nordstroms, Champagne and Caviar, when they can barely afford Walmart, 25 cent beers and hot dogs? Didn't you see the article about food stamps and the food bank in yesterday's paper? Yeah, Erie is thrivin! Some people live in a bubble.

Sorry about your financial situation but if you were downtown last night you would have seen a vibrant Downtown Erie. Personal friends of mine own businesses in downtown Erie one is a high end restaurant the other is a tavern/restaurant both of them are doing very well. One is opening another bar/restaurant in the next few months. It can't be all that bad.

Erie is full of bars/restaurants downtown that get a LOT of 20-something business.

But they are not places that an adult wants to go.

Sad to say, but Im glad to see Under the Clock go. We gave it 2 chances, and the food was under-average at best. Both times, everyone at the table agreed. Could be a prime spot for someone who knows what they are doing, culinary wise. Our fingers are crossed. Hopefully not another menu driven by the deep frier and Curtze pre-made airline meals.
