What's in the water at JET? Yesterday was Kim T's last day. Today was Jill Perkin's last day. Jilly is going to work for Ryan Bizzarro while Kim will be giggling her goodies for Sean Wiley. Nexstar, and LLLLLLLOOOOOOOOUUUUUUUUU Baxter, have taken a once great station and run it into the ground - not to mention being beaten to the HD news punch by Lilly Broadcasting.
That is one nutty station!

All that BS biased reporting paid off for a couple of "reporters".
Fat state salaries, pensions and benefits are the reward for getting democrats elected.
It can't be unethical! It happens all the time.

Hornaman hired Joy Greco, they were both former republicans. Yes it does happen quite often. If they do the job who cares.

It's part of the media-politics/business revolving door. You treat people with kid gloves and bury stories or give people preferential treatment under the guise of reporting. Then you work for the people you protected. Look at the former TV people shilling for hospitals. Look at the former newspaper hacks now working at the local colleges. Incestuous.

I have never lived in a city where the local newspaper and the local television stations have no effective investigative journalists. The fix is in.

You nailed it cold. Brian Sheridan, Kim Thomas, Jill Perkins, Karla Mullenax, Erika Howland, Jim Dible, Cyndi Patton, Abby Cahill and Lisa Zompa are among those who have gone from working in the media and into government/quasi-government or non-profit jobs. I know I have probably left some others out. The lure of these jobs that have better hours and pay than a media job is too much to resist.

Investigative reporting in Erie is a relic of the past.

Talk about "kid gloves" and "burying stories" I have to agree. No one followed the story about how Janet Anderson was being paid in her government appointed job. Mr. Roger Richards promised to make all of that information when he was running Janets campaign but to date nothing has surfaced. Why all the secrecy with that? Is Ms. Anderson in that position and how is she being paid? How many jobs has she created since November 6th.? The public has a right to know.

Roger Richards and friends blew $1 million on Janet Anderson's campaign. You would think that much money could buy more than Mark Divecchio's endorsement.

Is that fat guy still on WSEE? Bremnar or something like that, we used to sit at the bar when the Turners was open and watch him get tanked on two or three beers and then act all tough, classic Erie tv.

Guess they don't like their low paying jobs. Not saying its right but can't blame them for looking out for themselves first.

Someone at JET or WICU really should look into the Richards, Earll and Anderson issue. Where does that money come from that Anderson was paid with? Is it taxpayer dollars? Why all the secrecy from Jane Earll and Roger Richards?
I had a relative who worked in Earlls office and she recently told us it was no "day at the beach". The good senator has quite a temper she doesn't show publicly.

It's not that they are just moving to a job that pays a little higher. It's a reward for doing favors in the most unethical way as supposed journalists. Not many of the people that move from reading teleprompters to being hospital shills are very skilled to begin with. The local media has always been a barrier to moving the city forward because they are complicit or part of the elites that control the city like the Mead clan, Marlene Mosco types, etc.
Good luck getting a story done about Roger Richards. He's untouchable. And it's all hail to Bill Garvey and Perry 200. I could go on but it's too depressing.

How much money does Richards law firm get from the state? I started digging and read on a state web site that Att. Roger Richards is chief bond counsel for the State of Pennsylvania, what does that entail? As I read the page it appears that this guy Richards is making millions of dollars on any projects that are done in Pennsylvania. No wonder he "invested" a million dollars in Anderson for her bid to replace Jane Earll.
This new open records law is great, I just wish the local news people would get on something like this, I never imagined a small law firm in Erie Pa. would have such a large roll in state government, I wonder how that was pulled over a Philadelphia or Pittsburgh law firm?

This is turning into a very interesting thread. Why did Erie Insurance spend so much money on the Anderson gal in that local senate race? They got their nose in a ringer with Mike Joyce and you would think they would learn their lesson.
Some big money changing hands below the surface in this town, I also hope some news people step up to the plate and start investigating who is feeding who.
