Dogs need better legal protection

I have a concern in the area of Lighthouse Street. At the end of the street at the park, several dead pit bulls have been found.

I have heard there is a house around the Dunn Boulevard area that is fighting these poor defenseless dogs and I want to know who is investigating this horrendous allegation.

I think the time has come when the laws have got to change to better protect animals. There must be tougher laws immediately.

Instead of crying on here for action relay your information to the police and humane society.

The police wont investigate it. They are afraid of real crime. They are out busting pot dealers lol. Thats about it for their agenda. It would be to much work to do anything else.

This letter writer needs to take a walk around her neighborhood and see if she can determine which house has a bunch of pit bulls chained up -- and then contact the ANNA Shelter. If anybody steps up against animal cruelty, it would be Ruth.

pot and many recreational drugs. The policy can focus on real crime and clean this city up. Maybe a few more employers would come here and provide real jobs.
The police want to think they are taking a bite out of crime. If you take the profit out of it, there goes the black market and loser drug pushers.

The police use the same tactic that Sinnott uses with 'undesirables': just push them somewhere where they can't be seen, instead of working to solve the problem.

Every cop in this city KNOWS where the drug and gun dealing goes on -- but as long as they're "contained" in a few spots, they aren't going to break a nail doing anything about it. Sure, they'll raid someone once in a while to pose for the cameras with the contraband, but that's about it.

You are a jerk. Lots of decent people who work multiple jobs and can't afford Glenwood live in these crime infested areas. Lot of seniors as well.

Time for new rules. If you work for the city, then you have to live there.

They need to feel the joy.

I live in the Dunn Blvd area and I have several pit bulls, however I am not Acumen and I do not fight my dogs, if you ever came to my home, you would see my dogs are healthy and well taken care of, they are fed and loved, just because people have Pitt bulls does not mean they are fighters, Victoria Weber you are misinformed, and are making a foolish accusation.

. It seems as if you actually lived in the area or knew the residents, you wouldn't be such a snob!

Just because you have multiple dogs doesnt mean you are fighting or abuseing them. Pits are great dogs but it doesn't explain all the dead dogs dumped. Sounds a lot like bait or poor performing fighters. Nobody seems to be concerned until one of the tortured dogs breaks free and harms a child then everyone will want this breed banned.
