This kid had breaks many kids can only dream of. His parents sent him to private grade school at St. Luke and then to Prep. That's a lot of tuition money--wasted. Prep even kicked him out once, but then they let him back in. He graduated from Prep. He was then lucky enough to go college, to IUP, where he graduated last year. And his dad has legions of connections that could have helped this kid find a job. So what does this punk do with his life? Becomes a drug dealer What a scum. He deserves no sympathy. He's a loser.

Another 7 months, with any luck, he could have had a job in Erie Co. government under a (God forbid!!) Grossman regime.

Majewski wrote: <quoted text> Andy Sissini? What the hell could he do about it? The kid was charged with like nine different things! What in God's name would Andy Sissini be able to do? ...you are right. Sisinni is just the name...he's not that good of an attorney and he's even worse as a coach as proven by his record at Prep. He's a defeated man. He hates Prep now but I think his kid is going there. Not sure, but I think so...so much for blood is thicker than water, huh, Sisinni? Anyway, the kid SOLD marijuana and was a "pusher" - ILLEGAL. He was not the casual user. Do the parents of those "users" at IUP, Edinboro and Slippery Rock think it's OK that Lecorchick was pushing drugs on their kids? I think not. Little Jeff is the "ringleader" and is going to jail in the state system. What if it was a black kid whose parents have no pull or connections in the system?

Why was Jimmy's son kicked out of Prep? What did he do? And how was he able to get back in and graduate from Prep? That's rare.

Was Jim still on the radio today ? If so then too much sports talk and pepperoni pizzas have taken over priorities in his life. As for the "extra help " he might get from area attorneys, his kid was the longtime ringleader according to the news article. It would be a travesty if he gets off easy. Lecorchik has always called people like this " scum ". Now that the shoe is on the other foot, one has to wonder. While Jim has forever come across as Erie's fun luvin' sports personality his lifelong lack of personal discipline has rubbed off on his son that will have huge implications to many lives.

Prep grads are pretty much scum. How do you take a boy from the ages of 14-18 away from girls and expect them to grow up as a normal person. Think about the Prep grads you know, how many of them are divorced? How many of them are scumbags.

I don't think Jim can control what his 20-something yr. old kid does, especially when the kid's off at college. The guy seems like he'd be a good parent, so I don't think anyone can blame him. Sometimes things like this just happen. Generally, there is always one "bad apple" out of the bunch and is just so happens that bad apple is Jeff. It's a shame because the Lecorchik's have a pretty respectable name within the community and this incident could really tarnish that. GOD Bless that family.

Carole (ex-wife) raised the kids and is a professional person and deeply religious. She must be heart-broken to have the son turn out like the father (he has been married twice, dated Atkinson's mother and Vendetti's sister - what a run.)

A well known country/rock singer whose name I will skip overcame years of addiction/drinking and made a comeback. A while back, his then teenage son came home high/drunk and started cussing Dad out, telling him about how he mistreated his Mom and was reponsible for everything bad that ever happened. Then he pulled a weapon on Dad, who promptly disarmed him, wrestled him into the trunk of his car, and took him on a long very bumpy ride to a boot camp for troubled kids. they get along great now and sometimes perform together. tough love.

Jim seems to be a decent guy with traditional values who doesn't understand or like politics. we have little in common, but I can understand and respect what he is about.

I heard Lecorchick's morning show both yesterday and today. Yesterday--the morning after the story broke on his son--Jim was exitedly talking about his golf outing at Green Meadow Lanes at 12 o'clock noon. He was even inviting people to come and join him. You would have never guessed that he had a son who was in so much trouble. Today Jim was going on and on about how a certain caller was an IUP graduate; he said the caller is his favorite IUP person not from Erie (the caller went to Ringold high school in the Pittsburg area). It was so weird listening to Jim going on and on about how this person went to IUP (since Jim's own son was a huge drug dealer on the IUP campus). I think Jim has a real problem. He is a dysfunctional person. There is something that isn't right about him. You should have heard his tone on these shows; you'd have never guessed a story had just broken on all the trouble his son is involved in. It's sad.

I said it before, what seems to matter more than his kid in big trouble is old Erie sports figures, Barry Grossman, and his next pepperoni pizza. Wow ! It is sad.
