The head of D.G. Yuengling and Son Inc. on Monday called for the passage of a “right to work” law in Pennsylvania that could dilute membership in labor unions and said he wanted retailers’ interests protected in any expansion of beer sales.
Dick Yuengling Jr. said at a Pennsylvania Press Club appearance that the state would attract more businesses if it adopted a right-to-work policy that would make it more difficult for unions to organize.
Yuengling said Corbett’s office contacted him “right away” after he was quoted saying his company might build its next brewery in another state. The firm recently expanded sales into a 14th state, Ohio, and it now has about 280 employees.

Yuengling beer tastes like mule piss to begin with, no one drinks the crap other than the central Pa. hicks who can't drive their buggys to town for real ale.
Mr. Yuengling is a typical republican teabagger who forgot where he came from and the union people who made him his billions.
Lets send Corbett and old man Yuengling packing soon!

There are Union members that are good guys. The ones that are all take & no give are ruining it for the good ones, their numbers seem to be increasing.

This is the Jackson Koehler who posted earlier this year...get your own alias "Phony Jackson". Anyway Yuengling is a fine beer, well liked by many people & A SUCCESS STORY. Mr Yuengling knows exactly where he came from & he don`t need to listen to some phony Union BS Claims.
Here is the real deal....... The Workers at Yuengling voted to decertify the Teamsters Union, of course the Teamsters immediately cried unfair & that the Owner of Yuengling had ordered employees to decertify or else. The National Labor Relations Board investigated & sided with the Yuengling Employees ruling "THERE WAS NO EVIDENCE TO SUPPORT THE TEAMSTERS CLAIM OF UNFAIR PRACTICE OR THAT YUENGLING MANAGEMENT INTREFERED IN ANY WAY TO INFLUENCE THE EMPLOYEES DECISION TO TOSS THE TEAMSTERS OUT.
So take your phony Union propaganda & stick it where the sun don`t shine.Truth is an unfortunate casualty when Union propagandists open their pie holes.

Yuengling Brewery is in Pottsville and is not in Central PA. and is not in Amish country. You may want to refrain from the asinine remarks.

Straub Beer is a regional brew with a small but loyal following . It is tolerable with a unique flavor which frankly takes a bit of getting used to.
Yuengling is by far & away a much better beer then Straub`s, a fact the market place figured out years ago.
The fact Straub`s is brewed in Saint Mary`s Pa is not especially noteworthy after all Yuengling is brewed in Pottstown also a town in Pa & has been since 1829 which makes it Americas oldest operating brewery which is noteworthy.

It is a sad commentary when a guy like Dick Yuengling cries about paying his fair share and that is what this is all about. Yuengling wants "Right to work" so he can break the unions, the workers who broke their asses for him to become a billionaire and he wants free reign on the market so he can sell his s--t tasting beer anywhere and make a quick buck, who cares if minors get it more easily, at least Dick can line his pockets with profit. Dick needs to remember who helped him make his millions and if people stop buying his product Dick might go back to being a humble citizen of Pottsville like he used to be.
Wake up Dick, you used a lot of people and government programs to make those millions and now billions, pay your fair share and thank God you live in the United States and people buy your beer.

1.Why don`t you take the time to read up on what transpired at Yuengling Brewery so you don`t look so stupid......IT WAS WHAT THE EMPLOYEES WANTED!
2. In what way does the fact Yuengling Brewing is now a Non-Union Company affect how easily minors can get Yuengling Beer?........More Union BS Propaganda?
3. Oh,by the way.....It was "Old Frothing Slosh" not Old Frathingswash.....You do want to be correct, don`t you?

Looks like this thread is going true to form. There are two sides to every story , in this case we have the Yuengling ex union employees, Yuengling Management & the Labor relations people all telling the same story & the Teamsters Union telling a different story.
I know who I believe & it is not the Teamsters Union!

Totally disagree. Yuengling is the off flavor beer. It only made money because yuppies thought it was a craft beer and the brewery threw a lot of money into advertising. Yuengling, unlike Straub, uses additives and cheap adjunct grains like corn. Garbage in - garbage out.
