(2) america ceo has done a lot of harm they send jobs over sea and bring back toys that been painted with lead for our children and poison our dogs and cats and maybe even you. and all for the name of profit. more money they make the company and the board give them a heck of lots of money for their pockets ashame when you go out and buy something do you look where it is being made usa or china and do you say china is cheaper so hell with usa worker like nikes shoe being made over seas for less than 3 dollars and sold here for 60 dollars or a merican shoe cost 30 to make and sold for 60 who did you help

Profit is good; incompetent management is bad. US shoe manufacturers priced themselves out of their own market. People buy what they can afford. erieman wrote: hmmmmm a lot can be said about this subject.(1) ceo in america has sold their employees down the road for profit so they can make money in their pocket.(2) america ceo has done a lot of harm they send jobs over sea and bring back toys that been painted with lead for our children and poison our dogs and cats and maybe even you. and all for the name of profit. more money they make the company and the board give them a heck of lots of money for their pockets ashame when you go out and buy something do you look where it is being made usa or china and do you say china is cheaper so hell with usa worker like nikes shoe being made over seas for less than 3 dollars and sold here for 60 dollars or a merican shoe cost 30 to make and sold for 60 who did you help

Profit is good; incompetent managers are not. Steris should have left it's plant here and imported some managers to run it.

To bad Steris didn't follow one of their own principles: " If you fail to plan, then you plan to fail". Too bad, what a waste.

I'm sure the unions and the over-regulation of the Federal Government on this American company had nothing to do with their decision to move to a place where they could continue to do business.
Not like they have kids to feed or educate or anything.

I used to work for Steris Corporation, right at the time 450 people lost their jobs to MEXICO! That plant in Erie is hanging on to just over 200 employees for what? I was one of those 200 and some employees left (then I got SMART) And how much longer do you think they really are going to be gainfully employed? Let me tell you about the poor quality coming out of Mexico....not just quality issues, Steris has their customers by the "Balls". They don't have a choice but to deal with Steris. Customs is a nightmare! Trying to get ontime delivery for parts is insane! That is one POORLY managed company (the ERIE facility). They definately could of saved money by revamping their entire management team and keeping it in Erie.....But NOOOO the corporate greed took over, what about the death of the Mexican guy...you don't hear Steris Corporation commenting on that! They wanted that union gone, so now they made their bed and they must lay in it. The entire time I worked there all you heard about is when are they closing ERIE all together....it won't be long...jump the ship before it sinks!!

Here we go, blame the unions. Couldn't be Corporate greed, could it? As far as over-regulation by the Federal Government goes, why didn't Steris's main competition (Getinge) leave the country also?

No, I'm not blaming the union.....The corporate greed took over, they wanted that union gone. They got what they wanted now they have to suffer in their profits, quality etc. And their stocks are proving they are paying for leaving Erie and moving to Mexico. That company wanted that union GONE....they did just that. I blame CORPORATE GREED!! They will learn the hard way, one day those mexicans are going to wake up and realize they are getting paid peanuts and they are going to form unions and want MORE!! cityboy wrote: Here we go, blame the unions. Ok girl? Did you always have such a good attitude?
If this is what you showed them, I'm not surprised you're out of a job!
Is there no where else you can work? No other marketable skills? Or is it easier to sit around and B**** and complain about the evil corporation that's done you wrong....

But then you're the smart one who left Erie so you should know that, right? Good luck in your new and wonderful job/life. God Help the employers who hired you with that attitude... :) citi

Steris will not relocate back to Erie. Move on with your life. It was a great ride while it lasted, but life goes on. Steris is part of Erie's past.

Clinton helped push the NAFTA laws that helped take these jobs to Mexico. He also passed up the chance in his first two years to pass a permanent replacement bill for unions that go on strike. Liberals beware, some of the folk that masquarade as liberals are really in the center politically at best.

DO YOU EVEN KNOW WHERE GETINGE MANUFACTURES THEIR STERILIZERS? DO A LITTLE RESEARCH AND GET IT STRAIGHT BEFORE YOU POST A COMMENT. STERIS HAD TO MOVE TO KEEP UP WITH THEIR COMPETITION WHO HAD ALREADY MOVED MFG OVERSEAS.
