I am glad he is retiring. My daughter was involved in a custody dispute with her boyfriend who never worked a day in his life. Bozza ordered her to drop my grandaughter off every other weekend and made her responsible for transportation to and from his residence. Talk about unjust! He had abused and lost children previous to this but the judge would not allow his past to be brought into this decision. A persons' past has alot to do with who they are and how responsible they are. My grandaughter was put at great risk because of Bozza. Good riddance to bad rubbish!

He has been named in federal civil rights suit as an immune co-conspirator for conspiring with two Erie attorneys to throw out a med mal case. His day is coming.

I, for one, think losing him will be a huge loss to our judicial system.

As much as he could be a condescending jerk to attorneys in his courtroom, most of the time, he was able to get cases resolved in ways that left all parties content, if not happy.

In a related matter, have we forgotten about the behavior and decisions of judge stephanie dimitrovich? Remember the sentence she meted out to the lawyer who got his male teenaged client drunk and then molested him?
I hope the erie times news reminds us of her record next year.

If the average person (not a lawyer) had committed those crimes, it would have been a very different story. There is an obvious elite class who enjoy the benefits of their connections. When you start looking at the cases in Erie County and who benefits from the result, there is a clear pattern of bias and corruption.

"about time" is right on - look at the biased manner in which j. kelly conduct herself in the courtroom & she's allowed to thwart justice & truth at every angle, as long as it suits her wishes & people....

Perhaps we will finally have a more balanced judiciary bench - with other ethnics (& Ethics!)represented?
No ethnic minorities appear in the DA's office nor on the bench in Erie County...

learned hand, I have mixed feelings about appointing judges. In an ideal world, it would be the best way to do it. but we have an imperfect world, and electing judges is the practical way to do it. But I don't care for retention elections, because voters are not well informed about the records of the judges up for retention.
Like other things in life, there is no good answer.
And stephanie dimitrovich is a pip! Last year, while handling the case of the golf course transfer from erie to millcreek township, stephanie rode around the course in a golf cart, mugging for the cameras. A site inspection had nothing to do with the law. It was a matter of determining if a clause in the deed transfer to the city was enforceable. What a clown she is!

I hear several lawyers are lining up to run for judge. Most prominent name so far is Tony Logue, head PD; few others, never heard of them. Supposedly Foulk won't run, too much baggage, too old. What does everyone else hear?

Heard Brad F. won't run since he screwed up Shittoria Graham, Britney Seward, and Mercyhurst baby killer. Some stories are that Dunlavey won't run either, too afraid of Guantanamo fallout. Logue is probably good: my brother had him for a lawyer, doesn't take any sh it from anyone. Heard some other DA's want to run.

i almost fell out of my chair on that one. he is a fool and inept in every way. as for bf i heard he is gunning for bigger and better offices on the statewide level. erie does have many competant attornies that would do a great job. that guy sambrock is pretty good but don't know if he would even want it. onorato is good, but he may be running for county exec i heard. i also think a couple other attornies from some of the smaller firms in town would do an excellent job.

Too funny your very wrong about Mr. Logue, I have been his client for a number of years he is very professional and always does a great job for me and my family. We truly love this man, he helped my deceased father out when he had problems paying the house mortgage Mr. Logue, not only got the bank to back off of foreclosure, but he went to Giant Eagle and bought my father $150.00 in food to tide him over until his social security arrive. I don't know these other people, I don't know you, you seem mean spirited and must have a personal axe to grind. Any way I hope Mr. Logue wins he would bring a common sense approach to the court, and we need it at this point in time.

My thoughts on a new judge. Logue guy good guy and will fight for for your rights. Sambrok is a asst. DA not much experience in alot of other law and really does not get enthused alot in a courtroom. Onorato never heard of this guy until this site and about his woman problems does not seem suited to be a judge.

Unfortunately, "fighting for your rights" is not something a judge should be doing. They should be administering justice in accordance with the law. Logue would be a very poor choice for that. I've seen his pettiness play out several times. I think we'd be better off with an attorney from private practice, like Garhart, Kelly, and others were. Of course, DeSantis as a former federal prosecutor has turned out to be a great judge as well.

I don't know if your a lawyer or not but Tony Logue has always displayed his lawyer skills in the courtroom not only now as our Public Defender, but for years in private practice, did you even know that? Also, I utiized the services of both those attorneys you mentioned and they both couldn't help me with my problem, but Tony did and there was nothing petty about him. To me he's a great man.

I went to college with Logue, glad to see him doing well and hope he makes it to the bench. It's about time someone with common sense was elected, not the "holier than thou" types that now sit there.

Tony Logue has experience in both civil and criminal law. He is an excellent attorney and a very good person. He represents my aunt and cousin and has done an excellent job for years. Ask ANYONE who works for him and he/she will say the same thing. As for the suggestion about an assistant D.A. running for judge, do we really want a Brad Foulk protege as our next judge? Isn't it bad enough that our county has had to endure Foulk and his understudies in our district attorney's office?
