Is Luigi's still as good as it used to be? If so, I'll put up with a few hookers - aliens even. Is it safe to go inside? Please answer. Thanks!

Pio's at 8th and East Ave. has very good pizza -- crust is good, sauce is just right and they really pile it on if you order "extra" anything. They also have real good antipastos, but our all-time favorite has always been Barbato's. We used to come up from Florida when my son was a little boy, and all he could talk about was, "When we get to Erie, we'll go to Barbato's." LOL! He used to rave to his little Florida friends about it -- the best pizza he ever had, what they all were missing by not having a reason to go to Erie, PA, lol. Every time he visits Erie, that's one of the "must-do's" he looks forward to -- pizza at Barbato's. The pizza IS good, but it's also sort of a tradition -- get to Erie, get to Barbato's.

Kat, kat, kat....
Barbato's has nasty, stale, day-old Arnone's crust. There's just no way to state that with sunshine and rainbows, dearie.

How's the pizza at Millcreek Community? Maybe next time Crisis comes to take you, they can stop by Barbato's for you.

Monkey's Uncle don't tell me you go to Parade St and look for hookergirls? You won't find a nicer cafe/ food business ( nonsmoking and no drunks) than Pizzi's in Conneaut.

you won't get VD at pizzi's, you get it when you drive into Conneaut city limits.

Agree with the poster(s) who said Papa Joe's Pepperoni Cafe'. Awesome pie. If anyone remembers Pizza Etc. up on E. 38th street, it is all the same recipes. Papa Joe's is on 8th and Chestnut, and I believe their other location is on 26th and Powell?

Other places in Erie that have good pizza:

Patti's
Nunzi's Restaurant
Clancy's
Southgate

For wings, I would reccomend almost ANY corner bar, but here are my faves:

Chippers
Eli's
3 Chances
Lefty's
Odis 12
On Deck
