The woman that called did not want the dog killed, the cop told her it was a tranquilizer gun, he lied. When he shot the dog it landed in front of her and she is traumatized for what they did.
Why did he not use a taser if he was so afraid of a dog playing in a tree??? All the witnesses said he lied.
Law enforcement need more training on how to handle these calls about animals.
This is a shame and I think the owner should sue for the loss of his pet by an untrained officer who didn't know what he was doing and for not using common sense.
There will be a protest on Thursday October 3 3:30-5:30 in front of the Millcreek police department...If you would like to join us that would be great...invite everyone you know

....or you morons can put your pets on leashes to keep better track of them. Would you let your newborn run around unsupervised? Next time you'll make sure it's properly secured on your own property.

Of all the things to be getting worked up over you chose a dog?

No wonder this country is circling the bowl.

I don't understand why people allow their babies to crawl all over their animals?? Even the best dogs have bad days.

good, they shoulda shot the dog. then bill the owner for the bullets.

I blew away my neighbors dog last summer cause it was in my yard. he tried to sue me and lost, i counter sued for the bullets and wasting my time and won a $2500 judgement.

In England the Bull breeds were known as "nanny dogs" they were so good with kids. Remember "petey" from "Little Rascals"? I am sorry for this dogs death, and his owners grief.

Bottom line- if you loe your pit (as I'm sure most do) make sure he is secure and cannot get loose. I boarded up my house basement windows so I could go to work. If you are the least bit lax, this is usually the result. Sad but true tough love.
