Local 506,

I would have like to see what you offered the company in return? You neglected to have that in your last flyer that my husband brought home! Bill Crawford and Hall ... get out of that office and back on the floor! I do not agree with what you are doing... You are committing genocide with all our lives here in Erie! U don't lose your job's, we do!!!! U protect the troubled employees as well. How many chances do you give an employee that does not come to work? 100? Red circle wage thing was ridiculous too! A person making $45.00 an hour, lied, cheated, stole from that piecework system. U know it, yet you let it go through..

Union officials benefit off the backs of you poor suckers who will bear the brunt of this G.E. mess. And you know it now because you're right on the teetering edge of it all collapsing. The big question is will you ever learn? Can your rock solid, dyed in the wool, raised to worship unions mentality be changed by any of this? I doubt it.You'd willingly step in it all over again if it presented itself in 5 minutes from now. This type of scam is too deeply imbedded in the DNA of the typical union drone.

I don't see where anything GE was asking for was over the top. On the mandatory OT, for Christ sake the workers normally beg for it anyways. Wage freeze for a couple years, we already know that the workers are getting more than any other shop worker in the Erie Region, so why not? Two tiered wage system, why this would have effect on only new employees, correct?

Again, sad to see jobs lost, and young families hurt. UE should offer something, the ballgame is almost over.

I would agree with the wage freeze , but mandatory overtime is just another word for slavery . Some of us don't care to work OT .

Do you know why mandatory overtime is not a good idea?...because with the mandatory overtime one man will be forced to do the job of 2...which means jobs lost.
As far as the wage freeze... GE was fine with it when the contract was signed 2 years ago. Let's just say maybe we can tell GE that if they want a wage freeze because they are not happy with what they agreed to, maybe we can get our old insurance back from 2 years ago instead of the lousy insurace we have now since that makes us unhappy. They would laugh.
Finally, as far as a two tiered wage goes... it is not only for newly hired employees. It is for current GE employees now that get laid off and then get called back. Which means pink slips could go out to every worker... they get called back at half the pay.

Erie GE workers are as dumb as the black union auto workers. You can demand all you want, you are dinosaurs. Rather than whine about GE moving with your stupid marches, move on. Get your applications in at the plastic shops, the free ride is over. You are all expendable. GE is in business to make money for it's shareholders, not to support you lazy azzholes.

The union is not the problem it's the miss information that is being spoon feed to the media. If you were offered early retirement to save a younger persons job hell yaa, but then corporate throws that jab in small print without health insurance, hell nooo. So guess the young ones gotta go. There are no orders right now so the company is saying everything negative that they can about the Erie plant (divide and conquer). It's not the Union it's corporate trying to stroke Seminell eeee

I love how a bunch of people who know noting love to comment on shit they don't know. I was laid off 4 times for a total of 4 years. The only reason anyone is hitting the street is because orders are down and corporate greed is up. 2007 GE gave us a 4 year contract with raises, 2009 they asked for a wage freeze we told them see you in two years. 2011 new contract, new raises, 2013 they want another wage freeze. Question: Why did they give us raises in 2011? Answer: Because they gutted our health care and new we would strike without raises to pay for it.

You union bashers must be white collar asses who have never worked a day in your life and screw people over just as bad as ge is trying to screw over their employee's. This is a greedy cooperate trend that has swept across our country.. The employees at GE are makining multi million dollar machines.. And a lot of them. Not hamburgers for Christ sake.. the two tier wage system would have them making around the same money as a burger flipper. All while the company makes even more of a profit.. It makes me sick that a company the was voted buisness of the year with over a billion dollars in profits and who's CEO gave himself a 79 percent wage increase can turn around and screw the people who gave it to them.. wake up or we are all going to be making minmum wage

The point is you all work FOR GE. GE does not work for you. You have zero leverage.

Please understand that. Save what you can.

You are killing many with your Egos.

GE may be selfish in your eyes. You know what...thats life..swallow your pride and keep your jobs or let your egos put many on the unemployment line.

Why is this a difficult decision?
