Umm,you DO realize that this is going to get flooded with a ton of retarded comments that help you out none whatsoever, right?
Depends on where you plan on working and if youre renting apt or getting house, but SE Erie,Millcreek,Lawrence Park, and Sw part of city are best bets;now sit back and watch the influx of "helpful info" you get from a few others....lol

If you are going to move inside of the city limits, stick to SW side of Erie. Anywhere south of west 32nd st and west of Liberty. As far as any of the suburbs around Erie, I would avoid Wesleyville.

If you have kids or want to have kids, stay far away from any City of Erie school! Anywhere south of Grandview, west of Pittsburgh Ave. or east of Water street should be fine.

That's a very nice area. Seriously. It's Harborcreek township but it's practically part of Lawrence Park.

If you do live in the City of Erie, you can also send your kids to a Parochial School.

Ahhh, just as Robb said, all the brilliant minds are coming out of the woodwork with suggestions.

Really, you're not going to get any useful information here. Most people are conservatives with axes to grind about....well, about everything.

Go to CityDateforum at city-data.com for intelligent discourse. Check and see if there's an Erie forum.

It's a nice area. Going south of Rt 20 is even nicer. More country but still convenient. Unless your kids are very self-motivated, you should consider parochial education. It's very affordable around here. Good luck and welcome to the area!

Is'nt that where Penn State Campus is located?? I've been out there and I thought it was a very nice area.
