Rubino is taking the seller to court; he just WON'T let it go. I get the feeling that it's more about "winning" than anything else. He strikes me as the kind of person who will fight to the death over a bone instead of acknowledging defeat and moving on. It's not so much about force-feeding the tires-to-energy plant on Erie anymore -- it's about his ego, his refusal to STOP until he WINS. He's one of those guys who has to prove a point or die trying. He's well aware that Erie, for the most part, does NOT want this plant -- but he HAS to triumph. Instead of letting it drop and finding another locale for his "dream" plant, he'll fight tooth and nail on this to the very end because he's used to strong-arming his way to a WIN. Ridiculous ... and it says something VERY unflattering about the kind of man he is. Let it GO, Greg -- we don't want it here!

Erie needs industry and the tire plant if it comes will provide jobs, so bring it on. The plants are operating safely at other locales so why not Erie?

You are obviously uninformed. The DEP say this is the first of its kind. Rubino is doing the job Owen McCormick hired him to do. Owen will decide when he is tired of throwing money away. Until then he must be happy paying lawyers and knowing that the plant will never be built. No tires, no financing and no hope.

some how the tires plant is going to come . more than likely next year . they have deep deep pockets .

or to make it cheaper for the plant , is to buy-out erie coke and set up shop there .

Your right Becky, His ego is bigger than he is! GEIDC doesn't want to extend the contract and he sues them? I'm not an attorney but this seams like a stupid lawsuit. Remember last week when he was in the paper for sueing his ex-employee for the employee's computer? I guess if you don't work with him, his answer is to sue you. What does he do if you want to sale your property with him and you cancel the listing? I know, he sues you.

Who does he think he is? Did you read the article in that local magazine this week about him? He claims everything he did was to create jobs and grow Erie, Yeah Right! HELLO, didn't he make millions!!!!!!!!

I know he wasn't raised this way, money is the only thing in his eyes.

Growing up with Greg it was one thing after another. Then after our school years things only got worse. We don't talk much anymore, but Greg if read these things, please stop. If not for me, do it for your name. It was never looked upon like this.

Dennis, what are you talking about? I share your feelings about this individual but I don't understand your message. What does east coast west coast have to do with anything? Let's think about the coast of lake erie and what this plant may do to it.

I read that plant isn't coming to Erie now. Is this true?
One week I read about Erie raising the tax on amusement, the next week I read about how Erie is the most poverty level city in PA.????
I guess raising taxes is the answer to everthing. I said it before, I will say it again: set dynamite around the outskirts of Waterford and blow it. Anything left bulldoze into lake Erie. That make Waterford the new Erie.

Remember that Owen McCormick was the person whose idea it was to build the tire burner in Erie. McCormick's friend David Callahan, President of Palmer Paving of Springfield MA thought Erie would be a great place for the tire burner(Callahan knew he could never get away with building it in his city). Rubino is not the one who can throw in the towel on this cancer causing tire incinerator. Owen McCormick is the person that can end this scam. Please look up the number for McCormick Construction on Pearl St and call Owen on Monday and beg him to do the right thing for Erie.

The link above is for an article in the Sunday Erie Times News. Here are just two of the lies Rubino and McCormick told the public and were exposed as such.

1. The tires were to be supplied by Waste Management,

2. Bank of America was said to have committed financing.

In the article we are told that SB3 was not interested in working with Rubino and McCormick in order to sort out the rail issue.

Does everyone feel better knowing that more money (tax dollars?) will now be spent by the GEIDC defending itself in court against the Rubino McCormick lawsuit.

Note in the article the Mayor cannot form an opinion on something that has not been built. Not much of a leader but then most already are aware of that.

I forgot an E, so sorry Mr. Spellchecker.

Apparently the school I attended was better than the one in Mexico you attended.

You can't spell Erie, and you must have had a HOTT sack on your face because your sentences don't make any sense.

Erei will ultimately be a big contributor of energy. As erie slowly rots and decomposes it will produce a bounty of methane gas.

Is McCormick's ego as huge as Rubino's? BTW, I appreciate your informative, educated posts and opinions. Thank you for joining the effort the make Erie cleaner and greener.
