Barack Obama is now the incoming President.
And he made a promise to Planned Parenthood last year they expect him to keep. The first thing I’d do as President is sign the Freedom of Choice Act. That’s the first thing I’d do.
The Freedom of Choice Act (FOCA) would eliminate every restriction on abortion nationwide.
· FOCA will do away with state laws on parental involvement, on partial birth abortion, and on all other protections.
· FOCA will compel taxpayer funding of abortions.
· FOCA will force faith-based hospitals and healthcare facilities to perform abortions.
Barack Obama believes this legislation will "end the abortion wars." To him, "ending the abortion wars" means eradicating every state and federal law on abortion — laws that the majority of Americans support.
Americans United for Life (AUL), a pro-life law and policy organization, has prepared an analysis of the "Freedom of Choice Act." Please click here to read AUL Vice President & Legal Director Denise Burke’s analysis of this horrendous legislation.
The time to Fight FOCA is now. With Nancy Pelosi and Harry Reid in charge of Congress, we can expect a fight over FOCA to begin as soon as the next Congress begins.
Please add your name to the Fight FOCA petition and let your friends know about President-Elect Barack Obama’s promise to expand abortion throughout the country.

Fight FOCA Petition
I oppose the Freedom of Choice Act (FOCA), because:
· FOCA is a radical attempt to enshrine abortion-on-demand into American law;
· FOCA seeks to sweep aside existing, protective laws that I and the majority of Americans support;
· FOCA will prevent states from enacting protective measures in the future.
The FightFOCA petition will be sent to key Members of Congress upon the re-introduction of the Freedom of Choice Act in the 111th Congress, and to President-Elect Obama.

Sometimes there is a logical reason for the so-called "partial birth abortion." Try not to get you knickers too much in a twist.

Interesting the first two commenters are men. I know there are plenty of women out there who are anti-abortion but I think no man has a say in this whatsoever until they can give birth or until not a single man can shirk his duties. Intil that this is purely a woman's issue and they should decide. BTW I checked with God (we're BFFs and talk to each other daily) and he agrees.

Along the lines of this topic, I recently found the following article and wanted to share:

Another 'champion of abortion' becomes defender of life: the story of Sotjan Adasevic

Madrid, Nov 12, 2008 / 09:21 pm (CNA).- The Spanish daily “La Razon” has published an article on the pro-life conversion of a former “champion of abortion.” Stojan Adasevic, who performed 48,000 abortions, sometimes up to 35 per day, is now the most important pro-life leader in Serbia, after 26 years as the most renowned abortion doctor in the country.

“The medical textbooks of the Communist regime said abortion was simply the removal of a blob of tissue,” the newspaper reported.“Ultrasounds allowing the fetus to be seen did not arrive until the 80s, but they did not change his opinion. Nevertheless, he began to have nightmares.”

In describing his conversion, Adasevic “dreamed about a beautiful field full of children and young people who were playing and laughing, from 4 to 24 years of age, but who ran away from him in fear. A man dressed in a black and white habit stared at him in silence. The dream was repeated each night and he would wake up in a cold sweat. One night he asked the man in black and white who he was.‘My name is Thomas Aquinas,’ the man in his dream responded. Adasevic, educated in communist schools, had never heard of the Dominican genius saint. He didn’t recognize the name”

“Why don’t you ask me who these children are?” St. Thomas asked Adasevic in his dream.

“They are the ones you killed with your abortions,’ St. Thomas told him.

“Adasevic awoke in amazement and decided not to perform any more abortions,” the article stated.

“That same day a cousin came to the hospital with his four months-pregnant girlfriend, who wanted to get her ninth abortion—something quite frequent in the countries of the Soviet bloc. The doctor agreed. Instead of removing the fetus piece by piece, he decided to chop it up and remove it as a mass. However, the baby’s heart came out still beating. Adasevic realized then that he had killed a human being,”

After this experience, Adasevic “told the hospital he would no longer perform abortions. Never before had a doctor in Communist Yugoslavia refused to do so. They cut his salary in half, fired his daughter from her job, and did not allow his son to enter the university.”

After years of pressure and on the verge of giving up, he had another dream about St. Thomas.

“You are my good friend, keep going,’ the man in black and white told him. Adasevic became involved in the pro-life movement and was able to get Yugoslav television to air the film ‘The Silent Scream,’ by Doctor Bernard Nathanson, two times.”

Adasevic has told his story in magazines and newspapers throughout Eastern Europe. He has returned to the Orthodox faith of his childhood and has studied the writings of St. Thomas Aquinas.

“Influenced by Aristotle, Thomas wrote that human life begins forty days after fertilization,” Adasevic wrote in one article. La Razon commented that Adasevic “suggests that perhaps the saint wanted to make amends for that error.” Today the Serbian doctor continues to fight for the lives of the unborn.

What will you tell your children about this first black president? That he allowed your brothers and sisters to be murdered before their "first" breath? How IRONIC!!!!The choice you made to help silence "their" first cry, first word, first step! How IRONIC! How you put "your" familys'$$$$, first? All that was necessary was to elect the first black president. How IRONIC-as the first shall be last-

United Nations Population Fund-40 million from U. S. that Pres. Bush stopped, that supports Chinas' policy of coercive abortions for population control will "flow again" as Obama gleefully claims will be the FIRST item on his agenda. It is ironic that Obama professes rights while funding the denial of million of an infants very FIRST right -to live. This is certainly more than just ironic for the first black president.

i would have to say let me drill you in the head hook up my vaccum and let see if you like it..

yes there could be a medical reason for this.. if this is a legit reason i hate to say i would say ok.. that is when the baby head is to big and would kill the mother and child anyways well protect the mother..

i have a problem when the week before somethings happen between the parents of the baby.. then the mother would say kill the baby.. well i am not for this.. have the baby put it for adoption..

yeah...that girl from Michigan attending Mercyhurst should have excercised her rights. She wouldn't be in trouble if she would have had someone pull it from her womb and killed it for her.

"Rusty Brain wrote: Abortion is legal. Get over it."

Slavery was once legal too. It took some time for people to 'see the light' if you will, but it WAS abolished.
I, for one, am hoping and praying (fervently) that the same thing will happen with Roe v. Wade. It never should've passed. Ask Jane Roe.

Indecisive??? Maybe after it was born she decided it was really a punishment. There should be a grace period like returning a late library book.

Either way it is dead.

chandu drank to much of the creeks water and he has a PARASITES on his brain..

The ways of his thinking, tells me that he so naďve and brain-dead due to drinking of this creek water.. he needs to seek help..

Oh I guess I am the 3 letter dirty word for a man.. I do have a heart and compassion for a baby.. Yes a woman has the right to have an abortion.. Okay but when the fetus take a breath of air it no longer a fetus but a baby.. This child should be protected at all cost and given the right to live and put up for adoption.. I did a research on Obama position on this matter, he feel it was the right of the mother to have abortion. But if the abortion was blotch and the baby lived…. then Obama felt this child had no right to live.. Obama would allow to have 12 million illegal to become legal citizen of the u.s.a.. But is willing to denied a American born citizen the right to live… I have heard of particle birth abortion but never really knew what it was until now.. Again when people have the gull to complain about America handling water boarding with the prisoner in Cuba I have a problem when I have found out when the baby is stop in the birth canal drill a hole in the baby head and suck out the brains of the baby.. Wait a second this child is wiggle ling and moving and is alive and this is being done for what reason for abortion reason. Not for a medical situation to protect the mother life.. Just to kill the baby.. This is so wrong

I am sorry if I have some compassion and love for babies and I AM A MAN but I do feel strong when I learn about this issue and how wrong they are..
