Well here we go again. A few years after leaving Cathedral Preparatory School because he wasn't making enough money to support his family, Mike M is returning to the Rambler nation.

Hey Mike, way to go. Thanks for leaving the Iroquois School District high and dry. What's the matter? Couldn't coach normal kids? Need to coach the "special" kids at Prep?

Are the rumors correct? Did Bob Sanders really offer to subsidize your salary to the tune of $35,000 a year just so you could afford to Coach at Prep?

Misch, just so you know, you are a hypocrite. Can't wait to see you fall on your face at Prep.

i like mike and i hope he made the right decision.
mike is a very nice guy with a wonderful family but i can not help but think prep is using him to shake money from bob sanders for the sports complex. i hope i am wrong with my gut feeling about this.

Very shady situation!

Rumor is Bob won't pay one more cent to Prep without Misch running the ship.

"Facility Operator". What is that? No job description printed out!! What is he really going to do day to day till 2010 when it opens.
HE is not really part of the planning process, that work has already been done by the higher ups. He is just a figure head, that is getting paid big bucks by his old buddy BOBBY. What happens when that gravy train runs dry???

jjjr - if our instincts are correct it sure seems prep needs "misch" more than "misch" needs prep.

I guess Cathedral Prep hired back Mr. Mischler so Bob Sanders can give Prep a check for $2,000,000. The plan is to name the 12th Street Sports Complex "The Bob Sanders/Cathedral Prep Athletic Complex" only there was one little problem: Sanders told Prep he wouldn't give them "one damn dime" unless his boy Misch was coaching the football team.

You are correct, Prep needs "misch" more than "misch" needs Prep.

I have a friend in Erie who's son played for Mischler at Iroquois. She says the boys are devastated, but parents aren't surprised. She also said that Bob Sanders dumped some money into the Iroquois program, but that the only one who had access to it was mischler. Sounds like it will be going to Prep with him, with more donations to come...

The word is that Iroquois will not be filling Mischler's vacated Public Relations Director job. Wow what a surprise. In 4 years, Iroquois paid him $250,000 in salary, plus benefits to be the PR person for the second smallest school district in Pennsylvania and got 17 wins and 16 losses on the football field. Big I was the big loser in this relationship.

I'm disappointed to see that anyone would think Mischler or Prep would do anything of the sort. They hired Mischler because he is a great coach, and a good guy in general who really helps kids get into college. Mischler wanted to coach at Prep again because it is where he went, played, and coached at first. None of you have your facts straight, and you should really learn what you are talking about before you decide to make it up.

It's high school. Who the hell cares?

Don't you people have anything more important in your lives? No wonder this city's going nowhere.

Will Mischler be bringing back that arrogant jerk Tom Shade to be an assistant coach?

Iroquois Mole, You said it all. At the time the district hired Mischer, I thought it was a huge waste of money. Iroquois does not need and never did need a PR Director!

i do not think anyone is coming down on mischler, i know i certainly am not for i am a big "misch" fan. however, people are coming down on prep. i truly do hope my feeling on this are wrong but i would be surprised if prep's re-hiring mischler has nothing to do with trying to get some sort of donation for the sports complex from bob sanders. i guess time will tell.

I know Mike on personal level and he does not deserve this crap from a bunch of people who are only going on hear say. Here we go again let's all bash Prep. I had two son's go through Prep and I am broke because of it but would do it all again. Even if you are all correct who cares money is money so if Bob is fronting the money does it make any difference if it comes from him or any other Prep alumni. After all these years I still can not believe how everyone listens to all the rumors. If Bob gave money to Irquois then how wonderfull for them. If he gives Prep money how great it will be for the Athletic complex and the city of Erie... You all sound like a bunch of 5th graders, it is time to grow up.

Good point there miracle 10. Is'nt that just like Erie to crticize a potential large gift to itself if it comes in the form of a favor from someone who grew up here, went to school here, and had the audacity to achieve and succeed away from this decaying rustbelt pitstop we call Erie.
Like Prep or not, if it's true that Bob Sanders will assist in the building costs of the new facility on west 12th street, what's the down side ? Better to have that vacant lot sit there as an eyesore and stark reminder of all the failures of this decaying city than to have the funds to construct an area that just might serve alot of people in a positive way for years to come.
The envious attitude of so many Erieites has festered for so long that tearing apart anyone who has the means to break away from this downward spiral is met with irrational justification that its not right, its not fair. No wonder Erie and too many of its citizens keep sliding down the slope of despair. It's always someone else's fault, success only happens because someone was cheating or had an unfair advantage. Hard work and diligence be damned. Better to whine and moan that maybe you don't have the same as someone else. That's the spirit that built our country, crying foul at those who can do what you cannot. Look in the mirror, that's where you'll find the real problem.

I totally agree. I'm not a big HS football fan, I prefer Division one football, but I say anything that helps Erie is a plus. This new stadius is a plus for Erie. I think everyone should get off Prep's back and realize that this is good for the whole community.
