Once again, the TEC mafia makes off with the money, rather than the people who paid for and maintained the church. Expect another party at TEC nad/or Diocesan headquarters. They are really raking in the dough.

Catholics are no different. Look at Villa Chapel. Paid for by salt of the earth types, then looted by the sisters of saint joseph who wanted to demolish it for a few parking spaces.

Here's a solution. Why don't YOU put your money where your mouth is and pay for the restoration and maintenence of the chapel? You should be able to afford a new slate roof and repair of all the water damage inside the chapel. I'm sure you salt of the earth types can come up with a quarter million to save the building. If no you should keep your self rightous mouth shut, don't you think?

Oh, Baloney!

The Church is NOT the brick and mortar or the money needed to maintain the brick and mortar. Properties are bought. Properties are sold. Lots of properties become used for a multitude of purposes, over their useful lives.

Eventually, properties, buildings, just fall apart, just like our own bodies, the real Temples of the Lord.

Nothing to see out of the ordinary.

Maintained buildings can last for centuries unless the money disappears.

Take your advice and move your "church" into an old gas station. After all the church is not brick and mortar and you don't need fancy and expensive buildings. LOL.

"Whenever two or three are gathered together in my name, there shall I be also."

"Do you not know that you are God's temple and that God's Spirit dwells in you? If anyone destroys God's temple, God will destroy him. For God's temple is holy, and you are that temple."

Jesus left the temple and was going away, when his disciples came to point out to him the buildings of the temple. But he answered them,“You see all these, do you not? Truly, I say to you, there will not be left here one stone upon another that will not be thrown down.”

"The Kingdom of Heaven is within you."

Thus says the Lord:“Heaven is my throne, and the earth is my footstool; what is the house that you would build for me, and what is the place of my rest? All these things my hand has made, and so all these things came to be, declares the Lord. But this is the one to whom I will look: he who is humble and contrite in spirit and trembles at my word."

"If thine eye be single, thy whole body shall be full of light."

And King Melchizedek of Salem brought out bread and wine; he was priest of God Most High.
He blessed him and said, "Blessed be Abram by God Most High, maker of heaven and earth;
and blessed be God Most High,
Who has delivered your enemies
into your hand!"

Learn your scripture, Rev Bob, and find Church within yourself.

Then you and your friends will actually have something to laugh about, with an honest mirth.

Not really, a^^hole.

Every Sunday, pastors berated parishioners to give more and more. And they did give. For generations. The clergy didn't give a penny of their own money to build or maintain ANY of Erie's churches. The community paid for ALL of them. When the priests were eating steak and lobster and washing it down with scotch, they were squandering the donations made by regular joes. And when the child rape scandals meant settlements, again it was the congregation that paid the toll.

It is a fact that the Sisters of Saint Joseph neglected the Villa Chapel and let it deteriorate not because SSJ, INC. doesn't have the dough, they're just arrogant. They forgot or didn't much care that the neighbors built that chapel and maintained it. Until it was sold to a developer. A group has offered to take possession of the chapel to repair it but I read that the SSJ, INC. didn't much care to sit at the table and discuss the situation.

The SSJ, INC. knew for years that the roof leaked and did NOTHING about it. Why? They were going for demolition by neglect. But they got called on it.

Got it troll?

Hey Nimrod, if you feel so great about all that, you are in need of medication. Maybe assisted suicide would be better.
