I just recently got my wisdom teeth extracted there while put asleep and a week later my face is still numb. I did some research and come to find out that something very rare and horrible had happened. They permanently damaged the inferior alveolar nerve near the mental foramen causing the left side of my lower lip and chin have a permanent painfull numbness tingling feeling! Im not positive that is what happened because they wont return my phone calls to have it looked at again. Not sure I wanna go back there anyway!
I had my wisdom teeth removed at armini and my jaw was numb for a year. It is completely normal. You are lucky it was only a week!!!

I'm on the phone with my sister as I type this. She is telling me of her horrible visit this week to All About Smiles. The dentist took 3 hours for 2 root canals side by side. This dentist broke three drills off in her tooth, they took x rays and showed them to my sister. The drill bits are still inside her teeth. The dentist them made the remark to her and said "it doesn't matter how your teeth are filled in, as long as they're filled in". What can we do about this??
Brush and floss your teeth a little more!

made a consult appt for 8am i get there at 7:45am fill out paperwork&hand in..at 8:15am All About Smiles calls my cell phone to say.."you have an appt. at 8am today" i reply "ummm yeaaa im sitting in your waiting room" so they call me back and i stand at the desk while the dentist is mettling with his cell phone..(was getting consult for removal of wisdom teeth) he does not introduce himself..im standing where everyone is walking past me..(absolutely no privacy) he tells me he can put me to sleep for the procedure and tells me it will be very easy to get them out and that my mouth would be closed while he gets the bottom ones out..what??? how does that even make sense? im glad i also reviewed all these comments on here!

My child had a cavity that needed filled. They called and cancelled our scheduled appointment. His tooth became infected and ended up having to be pulled. They wanted to charge us $130 for the work. And not only that they did not allow me to go in the room with my school aged child. Also, we were in the waiting room while my child was in pain and miserable with people who were dirty, spoke foul language, and we're disrespectful and rude. I know some of them were on medicaid because the staff is not discreet. But the way i see it if you are receiving free dental care you really do not have a right to complain, with profanity, in front of minors about having to wait! The staff should adress these issues, and turned a blind eye! And we were there waiting for a total of 4 hours.

The orthodontics is great, I never had an issue with them. If I ever had a problem with my braces breaking or bothering me, they would schedule me an appointment the exact same day I called. All of the dental assistants and the orthodontist himself were extremely nice and up to expectations. I even referred a friend to get her braces put on here, also and she's not having any issues, either.

For the dentistry part, though, there are some issues. I've had good and bad visits where the dentist was extremely rude one time for me pulling away from the novocaine, and then the assistant told me that I just simply needed to "suck it up". But any time after that visit, they have been exceptionally considerate toward my fear of needles in my mouth. The dental assistants in this section are rude and degrading to each other; one even tried to have me join in on her disrespectful comments. I found this extremely out-of-line for the professional setting, and just wonder what they could possibly say about troublesome patients after they exit the area.

The wait for getting into the dental cleaning/extraction area is horrific. I once sat in the lobby an hour past my scheduled time before they came up front and got me. They seem to have an issue with scheduling patients and keeping to the schedule. The orthodontics section took me 10-15 minutes early every visit. They were fast and effective and got the job done right every time.

All about smiles is by far the most UNROFESSIONAL BUSINESS I have ever encountered...The Dental Hygenists are absolutely Ignorant....tho there are a few nice receptionists there . The Rudeness is absolutely rediculous and the So called Dentist are even worse....how they became dentists in the first place is beyond me...they talk about patients to other patients....and some treat you ok until the find out you have medical assistance then their whole personnna changes and they treat you like pure garbage....not to mention they feel the need to screak aloud that you have upmc for you or coventry cares....how this place has stayed in business is beyond me.....id much rather pull out my own teeth than even go back there....I will be reporting this place to the better business bureau immediately...when I see them yell at little kids that is intollerable.....they need to be closed down

I read all these reviews and I see Dr Everett he was great. One of his tech told me that the antibotic my doctor gave me was not right one. She told me I needed penicillin which I'm allergic to. Good thing I'm a nurse and know what would happen if I took advice from a tech. Everyone else was nice just hard to schedule an appointment

called all about smiles around 9 this morning it took 20 tries to get ahold of them the machine kept saying they were closed when obviously they opened at 8. Finally i got someone. i told her i couldn't make the appoinment because of my new job and if i missed work i would of been written up. The lady got real mean told me i have cancelled 4 or 5 appointments already (which i haven't it was only once, infact they cancelled my appointment one day rescheduled it and apparently she told me the wrong date because when i got there they told me my appointment was the day before and i missed it. i tried to explain that who ever called me told me it was today and she got smart then.)the lady i called today then told me she cancelled my appointment and now anytime i need to come in i have to call that day and see if they can squeeze me in? like what the heck?? i also had a problem before with a cavity the dentist told me it was a big one and probably needed a root canal but said he was just gonna fill it. i had no pain in that tooth until after i left. it was the worst pain i had ever had. i ended up going to the er on new years day because i couldn't stand it and nothing was helping. they gave me a hydrocodin which barely helped and told me to go to the dentist as soon as possible. i called them the next day telling them about my tooth and what the dentist said about needing a root canal and they said they would look and see if they could get me in and call back. an hour later they call me and said we scheduled you to get your wisdom teeth out that will solve the problem. They obviously didnt listen and didnt care. so i took the appointment they took out my teeth and then i had that pain on top of my tooth ache. i called again saying that didnt help at all so a week after my surgery i got another appointment and the dentist started saying oh we probably just filled it too much and wouldnt listen to me after he hit my tooth with this metal thing and i screamed he realized i needed a root canal which took 3 hours. i had no pain after that. another thing they did that made me mad was the first root canal they did in my mouth a year before this. They did the root canal put the permanent cap in and 2 days later it broke off! i went in and they blamed me and wouldnt listen. this place is soo rude and the girls working are all too busy talking to each other and worried about their lives and whats going on with each other than what they are doing to the patients. i'm tired of this place. im never going back

As a former employee, if like I say that these are all lies.....

But I can't. All these stories are true. I was in a unique position where I interacted with all the All About Smiles offices, and it's the same across the board. They don't care about the patients, they are concerned with the money they can make off of your state funded insurance. the doctors are rude the staff is horrendous. I worked there and would never reccomend anybody going there.

I took my daughter here as well as my self and we both had our teeth xrayed and cleaned. I have never had my teeth cleaned so well in my life. Niki needs a raise because she is awesome! I was kind of skeptical about going because of the previous reviews, but I found absolutely no problems with them whatsoever.

Well I Must Say This: I am a patient at All About Smiles and I "did" have a serious problem with 1 of the Dentist in the Erie Pa Office and 1 of the Dental Assistants..."HOWEVER " Have any of "you" taken the time to Call their Corporate Office? Or the Office Manager Courtney to talk with them about your dental visit and the issues that you have had? I PROMISE YOU THIS: If you place the call to their corporate office in Pittsburgh and file a complaint and request to speak to Nicole and/or Jeff (owner) YOU will have your problems fixed! I now see DR.BRUMMET and this dentist is super awesome! He is gentle, kind, compassionate, genu inely caring and speaks to you with respect...I hate going to the dentist and im petrified of needles/shots...I PROMISE YOU, YOU DO NOT FEEL HIS NEEDLES/SHOTS AT ALL....I WAS SHOCKED! How he does this I have no idea but its awesome...he talks to you the whole way thru your procedure and explains everything...I have sat in the cubicle next to little kids while he was working on them and NOT one of those children fussed or cried...he talked them all thru the procedures and made a fun time out of novacaine...telling these little ones he was going to put yucky tasting juice beside there teeth...these kids said only "yuck" and giggled! and KELLY the dental assistant that works with him is beyond awesome~ SHE has NEVER ONCE been rude and has always gave me one on one attention....YES I do agree some of the assistants needs replaced as they are rude and talk about other patients and staff but NOT ALL of them do this...YOU have the right to choose a different assistant all you have to do is request to talk to COURTNEY the office manager who is always there...SHE is wonderful and will take care of your issues...before you give up the dental office or NOT get dental work done because no one else excepts your insurance or write serious comlaints at least try to fix the problem by talking with office manager in erie and if she cant fix this problem then call Pittsburgh corp office.. ALSO TO PERSON WHO WROTE SMART REMARKS ABOUT PATIENTS THAT HAVE COVENTRY CARES OR UPMC FOR YOU...YOU ARE HAVE NO MORALS VALUES OR ETHICS...AND "YOU" OBVIOUSLY WORK THERE AND MOST LIKELY THESE PPL ARE COMPLAINING ABOUT "YOU" AND "YOU" WERE MOST LIKELY THERE DENTAL ASSISTANT! I PRAY YOU ARE NOT A MOTHER AND THAT YOU DONT EVER NEED STATE ASSISTANT! NO ONE SHOULD EVER BE TREATED BADLY BECAUSE OF THEIR INCOME..DO YOU REALIZE SOME PATIENTS PAY A PREMIUM FOR THAT STATE INSURANCE PROGRAM BECAUSE THEY ARE DISABLE AND THEIR MONTHLY MEDICAL BILLS AND MEDICATION TRIPLE THEIR MONTHLY INCOME? SOME HAVE CANCER AND WITH OUT THE STATE HELP WOULD DIE? IS IT A CHILDS FAULT THEIR PARENTS DONT MAKE ENOUGH MONEY? HOW ABOUT A FOSTER CHILD WHO AUTOMATICALLY GETS STATE INS BECAUSE A FAMILY WAS CARING ENOUGH TO GIVE THEM A LOVING HOME ONLY TO BE JUDGED AND TREATED BADLY BY YOU ? IS IT THEIR FAULT THEY WERE ABUSED OR STARVED OR RAPED OR NEGLECTLED? ABSOLUTELY "NOT"! HOW ABOUT THE VETERAN WHO FOUGHT TO KEEP "YOU AND YOUR FAMILY" SAFE FROM WAR AND TERRORISTS? HOW ABOUT IF IT WERE YOUR MOTHER OR FATHER OR SISTER OR BROTHER OR GRANDPARENTS? PEOPLE LIKE "YOU" SHOULD BE FORCED TO LIVE IN CARD BOARD BOXES AND STARVE FOR A WEEK TO LEARN SOME HUMANITY! AND FURTHER MORE YOU SHOULD NEVER BE ALLOWED TO WORK IN ANY JOB THAT IS HEALTHCARE RELATED!

I wouldn't recommend anyone go to All About Smiles for anything. The Washington, PA office wanted a release form faxed to them from my medical doctor before they would do any procedures. My doctor examined me (found that I was ok to have my teeth pulled) and faxed the form back to All About Smiles the next day. Later that same day, I called them to make sure they received the fax and they said they had and would call me back after the dentist reviewed the paper. During the next 3 weeks, I had called them 3 times to see what the status was and they kept telling me the same thing (they were waiting for the dentist to review the paper and they would call me back). After the 3rd week and still no phone call from them, I again called them. Now they tell me they can't find the fax and they would call me back the next day. Really? Needless to say, I didn't receive the phone call they promised I would receive. Just how long does it take for a doctor/dentist to look at a piece of paper? And how can you lose parts of a patient's chart? Not only that but the dentist there gave me a prescription to "calm me down" so I wouldn't be so terrified for when I came in the next time. I showed this prescription to my family doctor when I went in to get the release paper taken care of and he literally laughed. He said, "This is an old medication that is no longer used. It's a very mild sleeping pill that will do absolutely nothing to calm you down."...so he gave me a prescription for Valium. If All About Smiles can't handle something as simple as reviewing a paper in a timely manner and NOT lose it, let alone giving me a prescription for a useless medication, I'm certainly not going to trust them to pull my teeth,...thus I have found another dentist. I will be filing a complaint against them with the PA Board of Dentistry for substandard care and I suggest anyone else to do the same if you are receiving substandard care as well. Dentist's and their offices that operate at this level of irresponsibility and incompetence should not be in business and need to be disciplined.
