yea go figure. those are the same ppl that were complaining at the union meetings about ot ban and everything else. god only knows how many worked during the stoppage that one weekend. see they are the same ppl that are pretty much saying oh well to the 200 + pppl that are still out and probably wont get recalled back at all. we will be out just like the ones in 09. sad

If I have learned anything in my 40 years it is this: Nice guys who are thinking they are trying to help always get shit on; and never get to fuck the really hot, slutty chicks. Summer of '09, noone in my area worked a lick of OT while everyone around us was. We kept thinking slowly but surely folks will join in. Never happened, we simply screwed ourselves out of months of ot, trying to do the right thing. Many employees are looking out for #1 at this point, going into survival mode. I don't know where this contract will take us but I'm expecting a few things. I expect my out-of-pocket health care costs to skyrocket, and future new employees to take it in the ass across the board, ie pay, shift differential, benefits cut way back for years.

As we all can see here. There are people who are angry about being layed off and about the messed up recalls. The overtime issues and the way the union and company have handled it all. I will throw my 2cents in here as well.
The way our nation and the world has progressed or regressed, depends on what side of the fence your on. First we need to look objectively at who and or what's to blame. In the beginning of the orginized labor fight it was a noble cause! Just look back into how the workplace has changed due to organized labors influene. We all can name the excesses that gave the unions a black eye. But in the totality of it all. All workers in this country have benefitted from that fight.

This was all good when we had no other competition. When the USA was king. Over the last 30 years, organized labor has taken major hits. From Reagan breaking the airtraffic control union to the constant bombardment from corporations who have lobbied our government and waged a public relations war against labor.

Now today, we are a nation of individual who have been taught to fend for themselves. No unity as one person uses as a screen name. The country as a whole has no unity! It's all about " Me ". As citizens of this country , we have " No Unity " no two people can agree on anything. No two people can be called their " brothers keeper " we all are about ourselves! Just look at Washington. It's a reflection of the times. I see a dozen or more discussion groups on topix that are a true indication where we are. In reference to all the negative and in some cases just plain unpatriotic posts about our president. The office of president use to has a measure of respect. We use to consider the president as " our president " now it's just " that guy " or some other name I won't use here. It's just a shame

boy im gonna point a finger!!! im pointing at our lovely people running this country!!! careless spending, the chance for them to vote on pay raises for themselves. this country is in deep enough debt without them putting us in greater debt for their carelessness! its to a point where you have republicans crying that people are to lazy to find jobs and living off the system. yes i agree that some do. what about us that cant find work, or are laid off? they dont care as long as they have their 300,000 dollar job and can sit and read their newspaper on a $3000 toilet seat! can someone tell me where you can find an american made product? 100% made not made in china and assembled in usa? i cant. so you might as well say its a trickle affect!
sorry to upset anyone but just venting!

I hate the rumor mill just wish they would let us know so those that are affected can go on with there lives. I guess those working the OT will get more next year and those of us out the door will most likely get 26 wks and then will be taking jobs anywhere just to put food on the table. Good Luck to all hope thing turn around for us that are affected including my self.

From what we were told , when temps came back. The temps were until end of year. Most had high hopes to become permanent. That doesn't look like any will become permanent.

As for the OT. Well 80% work overtime. It's just the way it is. Not working isn't going to save anyone. That's not to say, many of us would rather have full employment and no overtime , but we can't control the company or the economy. We all have to take our lumps or pay our dues, so to speak Just have to try and stay positive and when it's your turn, it will work out in the end
