Bumfights is a film series produced by Indecline Films. The videos feature teenagers, homeless men (most notably Rufus Hannah and Donnie Brennan) in the San Diego, San Francisco and Las Vegas metropolitan areas fighting and attempting amateur stunts in exchange for money, alcohol, and other incentives

The videos have been banned in a number of countries including the United Kingdom, Canada, and New Zealand. The internet auction site eBay routinely cancels listings which contain copies of the video, citing their policy which prohibits the sale of materials which promote or glorify violence.[4] In the state of California, both felony and misdemeanor charges were filed against the producers, as well as civil lawsuits; in 2005,[5] the producers were sentenced to six months in prison for having failed to complete the community service to which they had previously been sentenced.[6] The filmmakers maintain that the production of the video was a mutually beneficial arrangement and that the homeless people depicted freely chose to participate.[7]
The films have likewise been blamed for inspiring a number of violent teenage attacks on the homeless, both in the United States[8] and other countries[citation needed]. A group of suburban Nevada teenagers, who called themselves "311 Boyz", also faced criminal charges, including attempted murder, after filming several violent exploits inspired by Bumfights. The suspects attempted to make a profitable video by instigating fights around their neighborhoods, in some instances imposing on unwilling participants.

Bum Fights is outlawed. Someone should start "Vagabond Encounters" as a more suitable venue to market. Stay classy.

No, i suggest take those whining little yuppies off of Survivor and give them the challenge. The challenge of not knowing when it will end? That 6 weeks or being voted out is not an option.

Good morning from downtown erie. The pa. Legislatjre just extended unemployment benefits, thus keeping a rather large number of displaced workers from becoming "bums". I am waiting for the bum population to hit critical mass. Then the real fun starts.

Three arrested for feeding Fla. homeless
Court upholds homeless feeding ordinance
ORLANDO, Fla., June 7 (UPI)-- Four more anti-poverty activists have been arrested in Orlando, Fla., for violating an ordinance on feeding the homeless in public parks, police said.

The four people arrested were all members of the group Orlando Food No Bombs, the Orlando (Fla.) Sentinel reported Tuesday.

They were apprehended just as they finished distributing pancakes and donuts to more than 30 people at Lake Eola Park Monday morning.

Under the ordinance, groups must have a permit to feed the homeless and are only allowed two permits per year for each park.

"Free speech two times a year? That's what the ordinance says," said Brock Monroe, 20, just before police handcuffed him. "I believe in liberty, so I will get arrested if I have to."

Others arrested with Monroe were identified as Noelle Bivens, 40, Stephen Willis, 23, and Dylan Howeller, 21.

Despite their arrests, members of the group said they would return to the park Wednesday to distribute more food, the newspaper said.

Bivens said one in six central Floridians is on food stamps.
