In the real world, not ghettoerie, s human would pay market price for the land, build a desrable product with his own money, and charge what he wants, but not in erie whrre every thing hinhes on frebies, welfare, and scuzz.

As was noted a couple of weeks ago:

JUST GET YOUR KIDS OUT OF ERIE....(Make a plan and do it....)

It is hard to see how throwing resources at Nick Scott and UPMC Hamot is going to improve the quality of life for the rest of Erie..

Scott's been growing weeds on his bayfront property for 14 years now. 14 years the land has sat idle. Guy couldn't be bothered to invest a penny in Erie. Now in one of shadow of the Great Recession he wants to invest millions - but only if he can get the taxpayers to help him.

Scott wants to build 130 housing units? Are those rental units or for purchase? How long will it take for Erie to absorb 130 housing units at say around $150,000 -$225,000 each? 15 years? How does one get financing for those units when the market is soft for them? No bank in Erie is going to lend that money. Certainly not PNC after Scott sued Marlene Mosco and Roger Richards.

Isn't the Port Authority fixing to build housing as well? Will those projects not compete with one another? Will those drive a stake in the heart of Joe Sinnott's grand vision of downtown living?(only time heart and Sinnott will appear in the same sentence BTW)

Office space - we have a glut of office space. Gimmicks, kitsch, and corny attractions will fill a hotel that Scott says is already redundant? Outdoor ice skating rinks? Floating barges?

How long will it be before Jim Martin is working PR for Scott?

Anyone can see this is all bluster.

Scott Jr. is right in his and the community's disgust that Roger Richards treats a public authority and its dealings as a private matter. Always has.

But once you put aside the boosterism from the likes of Creepy Bill Garvey, the Times Snooze, and city council and ask some tough questions the so-called game changer project is really just a computer animated hand of liar's poker.
