the laws and rules to insure safety and stop violence are already on the books. Those who commit acts of violence are breaking these laws and need to be punished . What else is there to talk about. More hot air, lies, and bullshit in the public sector.

Some of the submitted ideas suggested a need for more after-school social activities to keep youths active and off the streets.

Others said children need to be taught how to respect others and how to live a positive life.

..........

Truancy patrols started in spring 2011 and continued in fall 2011.

They were funded through Erie Weed and Seed with a portion of a $47,000 federal grant it received in November 2010.

A few hundred children were caught and brought back to school during those patrols, Werner said.

Truancy patrols were not conducted in spring because the grant money ran out.

But they are being resumed this fall thanks to some federal Project Safe Neighborhoods funding, said Mark Rosenthal, Weed and Seed coordinator with the Erie County District Attorney's Office.

Rosenthal said he hopes that the funding will allow the patrols to continue in spring 2013.

"We'd like to get some more funds to continue this.

We're always searching for other funding opportunities," he said.

educate them in a county 400-bed Juvenile Hall.

use the parents EBT money,

their ESD $12,000 a head cash,

lay off a few lazy cops

three hots, a cot and a GED

most parents won't miss their little criminals until the EBT is cut

Hmmmm let's see. How about the families of these "under priviledged" youth take an active involvement in the lives of their own children. This is not a school problem, a City of Erie problem, or a race problem. This is what happens when people have kids, then they decide that someone else should take care of them because they choose not to be involved. All the money and mentors in the world can not replace a caring, loving, and involved family. And it is only going to get worse, much worse!!

A caring, loving, and involved family is a juvenile detention center.

How about a fed or state grant?

Fed and state grants created this chit, more cash is needed to house the oppressed!!!

Why is it we need Federal Grant money to control black delinquent youths?......but we don`t for white kids . Sorry, but most of those now in gangs & causing problems from beatings, robberies & shootings are already beyond remedial help. They are a feral group with no redeeming value to society.
Sugarcoated band aid attempts to address what is a failed generation of black youths is a waste of time & money Strict law enforcement , arrest & prison are the real solutions for this problem society is now confronted with.
I am not being racist about this I am being a realist .....Society needs to be protected & rid of these useless pawn generated by the apathy & failure of the black community to accept a responsibility to raise their kids to honor & respect others & become law abiding members of society.
These are not Momma`s "good boys" they are violent street thugs who need to be removed from society & If additional prisons are required...build them, deduct the cost from welfare entitlements which in large measure has contributed to the cause of this problem in the first place.
If the black community continues to fail & really address the issue at hand then the law abiding citizens need to resolve it for the good of civilized society . I would much rather spend money for the good & safety of law abiding citizens then to pour it down the same rat hole most welfare entitlements now are funneled into.
You know contributing members of society now pay income tax of unemployment benefits & social security but no one receiving welfare pays even a dime. Consider the cost of new prison s& more police officers to protect society as payments in lieu of taxation.

This problem is isolated to the black community. It's about time they steped up and took responsibility for their community and their children. Stop looking to others to fix problems you created or allowed to exist.

First of all there are entirely too many "kids" having "kids". It starts at home!!! Our society should never have made it "acceptable" to have children at a young age without being married or at least in a stable relationship then allow these people to "live" off the system!! How do we expect a child to be raised properly when the mother or father that had them is in fact a child themselves and obviously NOT raised correctly or he/she wouldn't have gotten pregnant!! The entire welfare system and SSD system need an overhaul. When there is no "free" money for these young people there would be no reason for them to keep having violent street thug kids. Black or white!!!!!

"War on Poverty" and healthcare reform

In 1964, upon Johnson's request, Congress passed the Revenue Act of 1964 and the Economic Opportunity Act, which was in association with the war on poverty.

Johnson set in motion bills and acts,[64]

creating programs such as

Head Start,

food stamps,

Work Study,

Medicare

and Medicaid, which still exist today.

“I’ll have those n**-gers voting Democratic for the next 200 years.”

- Lyndon B. Johnson

“These Negroes, they’re getting pretty uppity these days and that’s a problem for us since they’ve got something now they never had before, the political pull to back up their uppityness.

Now we’ve got to do something about this, we’ve got to give them a little something, just enough to quiet them down, not enough to make a difference.”

Money, lots and lots more money is needed to throw into programs to aid these children in need. America is shameful for not seeing this and taxing people, especially the rich 90 % and more so our social problems can be solved once and for all. Taxation should have no limits until all of America's problems are solved !

How about some sterilization in the water? The recent violence "victim" looks like he left behind seven kids I know have to raise. That's going to take a village and a half.

The problem is discipline, most of the coloreds don't know who their father is. If you give them more money to build more gyms, they will have more places to sell dope. What are the negro reverends doing abut all the shooting and dope?
