If you get a chance to attend the Kemenyffys' annual tour of their 47 acres of gardens, don't miss it. It's is absolutely beautiful and they did all the work themselves. I saw a slide show presentation about 10 years ago of what their land looked like before and after they began designing it on their own.
The annual garden tour is part of a six-garden tour which benefits the Erie Art Museum. Here is a list of the other gardens that will be open to the public.

Tour Six "Private" Northcoast/Erie County Gardens
The Erie Art Museum will benefit from the Garden Conservancy's 2009 Open Days Program, the only national garden-visiting program of its kind in America. Gardens open for tour include the Frenzel Gardens, 7700 Admiral Drive, Fairview; Brier Hill Garden, 6721 Brier Hill Road, Fairview; Bonnie & Mark Bestoso, 4828 Wolf Road, Erie; Raku Place, 4570 Old State, McKean; Grimshaw Glen, 11274 Curtis Road, NorthEast, and Brett & Kitty Maloney, 11501 Cole Road, NorthEast. Proceeds from the tours at Raku Place, the private gardens of Steven and Susan Kemenyffy, will benefit the Erie Art Museum. Cost is $5 per person/per garden.
