Two things......
Here in Erie blacks make up about 17 % of the population, they also commit over 65% of the crime here . It would seem to me those who cry they are being persecuted & you white folks are racist need to get their house in order. No one is forcing them to commit these crimes & since they do not appear to fear retribution ......persecution is not much of an issue either.
Second, Detroit & some of its satellite communities are indeed becoming an American Mecca for Muslims along with the inevitable backlash against traditional Christian values.
Will Rodgers an American Humorist& of American Indian heritage once said his ancestors should have been more careful about immigration....look what happened to the Indians. Well apparently in some communities history is repeating itself.

I hate to disappoint a segment of commenters here but......the racist juvenile commentary does not address the issue which is our black minority youths basically run wild without condemnation from the adult segment of the black community or any real actions from the so-called black community leadership to address the issue.

Frankly it seems the so-called black community leadership is more interested in advancing a political agenda then addressing the issue. Whether or not they will admit it,the race card & racist accusations play well in the minority community particulary among the over leisured welfare parasite group.

There is a future confrontation brewing here , a backlash if the white community gets fed up with the crime rate & lack of attention to resolving it because no one in authority wants to be called racist for telling things as they really are & doing something about it.It may just happen.

This is a Democratic town & racism is a card right out of the Democratic party playbook....it has worked well for them in the past, they are not about to change it any time soon even though the claim is BS.

What I really see in the not to distant future is a rise of militant Hispanic determination to grab their share of the government welfare system & challenge the Black community for a position of pre-eminence....after all they as a minority are larger then the Black segment & growing faster.

If people think we have a problem now....unless something is down soon, the racial cauldron will boil over making anything happening now look like childs play.

I agree with Stan, there is a strong undercurrent in this Country between all minority's jockeying for position, Erie is only a microcosm of what is occurring in every city. There are many, many causes that go back not decades, but centuries, but the solutions are rooted in establishing fair and equitable immigration policies, social welfare laws, encourage people to get off welfare by providing a family sustaining wage (yeah, I know, easier said than done - don't crucify me for that statement)equal access to education and finally, here it comes - limiting access to social welfare programs in terms of capping dollars amounts for a lifetime and/or month/year limits save for sever disabilities that clearly limit one's ability to work.
