about time they start doing their jobs catching this. go to The Dog Tavern on West 8th Street-you can get the underage drinkers from the College there and a drug bust at the same time. The owner is from New York and was found guilty of peddling drugs to hospital patients there. He came to Erie in 2006 after that and is not doing it here as well. What really hits this is his wife is a nurse of a local hospital and stands by her drug addicted hubby!. Most of the taverns on 8th street serve underage people because they want the $$$. The only one that does not do this is Joannes on 8th and Myrtle..

So let the bars stay open longer. We need the economic boost.

well joannes has its fair share of problems. for one the bar is infested with drug dealers, pimps, and "ladies of the night". second the bartenders, with the exception of the owner, are users and buy from their drug dealing patrons. one of them even had her kids taken away because she is a habitual drug abuser. go in there and check it out for yourself.

They should have left the 'Damore's" sign up. Wouldn't have had a problem.

A bunch of the clubs used to do this (shut the doors after hours, but let the people inside keep on drinking)-- the Moniuszko Club, the Polish-American Club, Polish Falcons, all of them used to let people continue drinking til the wee hours of the morning. Knew a bartender at one of the clubs who would lock the doors, but allow a group of "regulars" to hang around, playing cards until 6, 7 in the morning -- serving them drinks the whole time. If they're going to crack down on one bar, they need to go after them ALL. The clubs are the worst offenders, because the general public doesn't go there .. just the "members" who sure aren't going to talk about what goes on after hours.

Erie needs more respectable places to go - Like Cy Ciottes Calabrese Club from years ago - everybody behaved and had a good time, or the old PP club - even nuns and priests went there. Does anybody remenber the bar called Earthworks? The band Philip played there and nude dancers stripped on the pool table. You could get good coke back then along with weed, and you could get in even if you were 17. YEEEHAAAW

I don't know if it's the same owners, but Peccadillos is now a sports bar called Sluggers.

Stopped in there last weekend and it is a beautiful place. Though I'd never been there when it was Peccadillos, it looks like the owners made a substantial investment in Sluggers.

From what I heard, they will only be open until 10 or 11pm, so the after hours shouldn't be an issue.

the Cab and Edwardos in Millcreek (close to the police department) do it all the time. PLCB - check those places out and while your at it, have the Region 7 strike force check out Night Flights for the white stuff (and I don't mean snow) When I go in there, it's rampant.

Sort of, The owner of the building changed, there is a partnership now. Same liquor license and owner of that license is still a partner along with 2 other. He owns boardwalk on n park row as well.

Isn't this the same bar that Brittany Steward did her underage drinking the night immediately following the toddlers dying on her watch?

She was an underage drinker. They serve underage drinkers. Not a low blow, it's reality.

A low blow would be being responsible for the deaths of two toddlers, then going out and partying. Yep, definitely "low blow" status.

I think I have the right place, if so, they must be open later than 10 or 11. In today's Showcase it says they are hosting a UFC (Ultimate Fighting Championships) PPV there that starts at 10pm this Saturday. PS, no cover.
