I'll give them credit for their competitive nature and excellent coaching for sure. However they always struck me as two little shits with authority over school age boys forced to tolerate the desire to uphold their thinly disguised "tough guy" reputations. I always felt that these intimidated kids, once grown to full manhood could have kicked both of their five foot five frames across town any day of the week. Can't recall any stories of the Brabender boys scaring any adult males, all who were likely to physically dominate these over hyped munchkins.

Anthony Larocco...he fought an entire fraternity on west 7th street one night...put three of them in the hospital...he was in his late 30s or early 40s at the time. The frat was later expelled from Gannon.

I know. They remind me of the phrase: "Those who can do; those who can't bully!"

And don't forget to add that he does not make enough money to attend the Tall Ships celebration!

How can that be? I thought if we developed the bayfront everyone would suddenly have money to waste there ;)

I'll repeat at the risk of seeming rude. From all the stories I've heard from martial arts folks, that honor would fall to Grandmaster Jerry durant, though I would leave the expletative out as I enjoy living.

Although I've no doubt he paid his dues (as has his students and theirs)much of his latter career reputation was made by being sadistic with his students. Even at that time a bro and I heard Billy Blanks say "I wouldn't want to fight him" to which I responded to my friend "I would". Frankly, I think Grandmaster Durant would have respected that.
Let's get real. I don't want to spoil the party here: I dug the computerized Ali vs. Marciano match and even the imitated computer match-up in the movie "Rocky Balboa" involving him and some young gun.(Great movie. A must see of the Rocky series!) And I'm enjoying the conversation.
But truth be told even a 14 year old homie in the hood with no life, no hope and no future--with a gun--would smoke Durant, me, Timmy and all the other posters in one fit of rage if so inclined. There's your baddest dude: anyone that don't give a fuck. Notably if he had a gun.
Bruce Lee said something to the effect (MUCH poetic licence here) that the worst type of opponent to fight is one who you can beat, crush and maim--and he'd crawl back on bloody stumps to try to bite your nose off.
(Of course there's always that other piece of sage advice from some comedian: "Never get into fights with ugly people. They have nothing to lose." It's kinda like that.)
Ok. I'm done. Carry on with the list ;)

Anyone remember Sister Salasia from Holy Family, back in the 70's? She'd kicked the crap out of god, the devil and a couple others at the same time.
