is it just me, or does this Elliot person come across as a complete know-it-all jerkwad who completely misses the point. Why is it always these balding alpha males are quick to call others aggressively ignorant when in fact they are the ones who behave that way?

Alpha male? John Elliot wears bow-ties. That's a douche-bag, not an alpha male.

He is a hostile developer. His needs and greed are more important then the citizens and elected officials of the communities he wants to build in.

John Elliot = 140 unit townhouse development at 13th & Peach (7 built only 1 sold and millions of taxpayer dollars wasted). He was also the mastermind of tha apple juice factor on 12th street that would create hundreds of jobs and be a boon to the local farming and trucking industries (empty lot and millions of taxpayer dollars wasted).

Who ran the loan fund that lent Fiss the money?
Larry Bossolt. Who was paid by Fiss to site and design the plant? Jeff Spaulding and Pete Callan.

The mayor's best friend Chris Mong, Flo Fabizio's nephew, hired Bossolt to replace Elliott at the city's redevelopment agency. Bossolt under the direction of the mayor through Kim Green signed an agreement with 4th River to build the condos.

Let's give proper credit to the mayor and his team of idiots.

Sorry you can't rewrite history. Here is an excerpt from the Erie Times
Do you work for Elliott because you sure are trying to snow the public on what
this guy has really accomplished.
----------
The Erie Manufacturing & Supply Corp. building, 1215 Peach St., will be demolished by its owner, the Erie Redevelopment Authority.

The authority has a contract with McCormick Structural Systems of Erie for $19,400 to demolish the building, said John R. Elliott, the authority's executive director. The work could begin as soon as today, he said.

The Redevelopment Authority acquired the vacant one-story building for $299,000 in the summer of 2007. It contains about 8,300 square feet of space.

Elliott said construction of town houses could begin later this year.

Lets get real and give credit to the visionary the Erie Redevelopment Authority couldn't afford to pay enough to keep him doing his work in Erie..
----------
Townhouses could be going up as early as 2008 on the site of the vacant Warren Radio building at West 14th and Peach streets.

The Erie Redevelopment Authority has gone to court to acquire the property, which has been declared blighted, through eminent domain, and hopes to have ownership in about a month, said John R. Elliott, the authority's executive director.

The building is then expected to be demolished to make way for the townhouses, or rowhouses, as envisioned in the downtown revitalization plan prepared by the consulting firm of Kise Straw Kolodner of Philadelphia in 2006.

Elliott said a developer could be selected by summer.

How are the ArbysView townhomes working out for you, John?

Great example of your brilliant vision.

LOL. The townhomes were built in 2012.

4 years after Elliott left the city's Redevelopment Agency.

Do you people have a problem with math? Or just Elliott?

Next you'll be blaming the guy for the transitway mall and your mother's promiscuity.

He clearly was responsible for the planning and execution. Sure, they didn't get built until after he left, but he seemed to think it was a swell idea and was involved in the conceptual planning.

Didn't pan out too well, did it?

He's a condescending jerkoff, for sure. All he does is leech grant money with his 7+ "economic development" corporations and pay himself a huge salary.

Name one thing this clown has done which has panned out?

Erie Redevelopment Authority Executive Director John R. Elliott's trademark is finding creative solutions to push forward downtown improvement plans. He's done it again.

This time, Elliott and other city officials determined that a parking ramp for the northeast section of West Fifth and Peach streets was "absolutely essential" for downtown revitalization in that area.

"This project shows a lot of promise," Elliott said. "I don't want to say it is definite. It's a strong enough possibility that we are pulling the pieces together. Our goal is to have building permits within 12 months."
----------

I long for the good old days. When downtown someone available with creative solutions.

Coffee shop coming to Erie's Union Square development

Rejoice, Java junkies: Coffee is coming to Union Square.

Crazy Mocha Coffee, a privately owned coffee chain based in Pittsburgh, has signed on as the first retail partner for the $50 million Union Square development in Erie's midtown.

The coffee shop will open in the spring on the first floor of a planned new building on 13th and Peach streets, said Mark Schneider, managing partner of Fourth River Development LLC, the Pittsburgh-based group that is the co-master developer of the midtown area.

Schneider said securing a retailer was an important piece of the Union Square project, which also includes the renovation of Griswold Park, the Erie Redevelopment Authority's multimillion-dollar transformation of the Mercantile Building at East 14th and State streets, and the construction of town houses.
