A large percentage of Americans believe that this could take place. When I posted the poll I was more curious of how and what means you would use to protect your family and property. What resources would you use? Would you trust our government enough to board a freight train?

Apparently the Computerized Special Education Channel from Rural Alabama did not have a class in reading comprehension.....I never said I wanted a revolution or believed one would break out tomorrow but the possible eventuality is there. It is just that you cannot recognize the erosion of freedoms underway. The dumb downed liberal educational establishment has failed you.
I suggest you do a point by point comparison of what was normal 50,40,30,20,10 years ago to the current time period. You will find a steady swing from the conservative point of view to a liberal socialist position......changes of course for our own good, decisions for us as we lack the capability to reason & do for ourselves, controls never before needed thru out the history of this country with an entitlement system for the lazy & inept administered by the government, paid for by those who are willing to work & earn a living.
We are in the middle of a culture change in America, we are transitioning from a CAN DO mentality which fueled the success which once characterized America to a WON`T DO, GIMME mentality which has failed in every society where ever it has been tried.
This my friend is what escapes you, will enslave you & will destroy this country if not reversed.
It has been the history of civilizations to decay from within, then transition to a society with a ruling aristocracy only to fall by the wayside. This is where we are headed unless enough people wake up.
Wow, the facts just destroy your position. Reagan and Nixon would be too liberal for your tastes.

The whole "gun" issue is essentially the manifestation of the fear of a scared soon to be ex white christian majority of not being in charge anymore. After being used to calling the shots for 500+ years. The election of a black president and the rise of other religions and the rise of immigrant communities of other cultures scares them. This is why the feel so angry and hate to government. Because they don't feel they control it any more. And they won't be getting the benefit of beneficial treatment anymore. This is why they talk of armed rebellions, hate immigrants, hate a black president, hate a more equal society.

In the mean time:

We've watched our government being taken over by Wall Street and the banks.

We see our liberties ravaged, starting with the Patriot Act.

Our representatives are unwilling to do simple, obvious and necessary things like make sure that background checks to buy weapons is universal, to hopefully eliminate at least SOME criminals and mentally ill from being able to purchase weapons.

The regulators are powerless against corporations who put profit above everything else, including food and drug safety.

You need to reevaluate some things in your life if 4 innocent people getting shot and killed brings you that much joy.

Even though i kind of detest tea party anti government types, I'd still be pretty upset if 4 of you got pointlessly murdered.

Actually..."Truth" I laid out a simple step by step progression which would demonstrate the veracity of what I posted. You obviously choose to rely on disinformation rather then to take the time to verify, evaluate & understand what truth really is.

"A large percentage of Americans" are Christians raised on the hope of doom and disaster for this world. That means the world being destroyed will be the start of their holy glory which includes their loving God torturing people for eternity for not believing what others non-sensibly claim about Him.
Make no mistake. Those are mainly the people we're referring to.
Well said.

Yup, and my box of rocks. Basically my question was how far would you trust your government? As for your property if they want it, they’re going to seize it. Ba~daa~pahh

I think it's darling that today's patriots are buying kiddie guns for their offspring. Great way to teach them to make Swiss cheese out of little sister. Oh, and it will certainly stop the tyrannical government when it comes to take even more of their freedoms away - like the freedom of little tykes to pack heat.

We need more inbreds buying their children/siblings guns. Every trailer park in America should be armed to the teeth. And these dirt-eaters end up shooting each other over rival tatoos on their women-folk. It's the result of cammo dress-up and too much moonshine.

<quoted text>Hey. I like your husband and think he's a cool guy. So quit trying to slip in these lewd, covert sexual references to your "box" ok? Naw, just kidding. Your husband's a douchebag and keep the comments coming ;O
To the point though, do you think Joey Donuts or Barry Grossman are going to actually come to my door and ask for the deed or what?
As to government, it's an effect. It's the cause I don't trust, the nutbag voters.(Nutbag defined as anyone who doesn't agree with me BTW ;)
It was either the Buddha or some other fat guy that pointed out that much of life is just an illusion anyhow. Some people spend their whole lives running from things that aren't chasing them.
For example, the time to worry is when I open my door and actually see your husband's face...not before...because he's also a wimp...
LOL! Your husband doesn't own any guns by chance does he???????
damn u, next time i'm writing your phone number on the men's room wall ;o

Ain't nothin better than the sound of hot lead slamming in to a dirty hippie! Stupid war protesters. Killin a few of them really set the tone. I remember those dumb hippie chicks bawling their eyes out over some dead doper sprawled on the grass.
It was freaking sweet.
Can't wait to take out some homeless occuturds.
You game?
Turns out the hippies were right about a senseless war. Anyway much was mentioned here based on government staged events... Kent State, Waco,Oklahoma, even the Kennedy assasination.. How easy it is to shape an agenda and public opinion when you have absolute control of the system of events and information, the sad thing is even though more people are waking up to their agenda,(because we have lost so much in the last 40 years), we may not be all on the same page until we have lost it all- before they say "yes you are right--dah now what?"

Do you feel that guns are more of a “public safety issue” or a radical right's fundamental misunderstanding of the Constitution? Keep in mind that machine guns were banned in 1934.

Why bother with DUI laws if people still drink and drive?

Why bother with Federal immigration laws if people still sneak across the border, or the anti-American President chooses not to enforce them?
