Well, no kidding. The Sisters of Saint Joseph have sold out. The change to the catholic identity is only the beginning of change at Saint Vincent. When Highmark gets it there will be many other changes. Wake up management--you will be the next to depart!

Sold out? The fact all hospitals have had to merge, close or be bought out doesn`t enter into the equation? How about the fact Saint Vincent was more then 20 million in debt, does that matter? Government reimbusements have driven many doctors out of business , hospitals are also adversely affected. How can there not be a negative impact?.
As Obama care unfolds what you have seen so far will be small potatoes....welcome to socialized medicine!
Medical insurance is going to be very expensive , there will be a huge shortage of doctors , there will be long delays or waiting periods for appointments , surgeries or procedures all under the control& direction of a federal bureau determining who gets service, who gets priority or who will be medicated & left to die.
You can thank Pelosi,Harry Reid & Obama for this monstrosity.
You probably ought to make plans to visit older relatives soon ....they are probably going to sacrificed for the good of those more favored by the democratic Socialist overlords.

First, why isn't St. V's catholic anymore? Kinda funny having that name and not being catholic.(Also funny how the Catholic Church can have systemic cover ups of pedophilia yet they remain a catholic institution.)
Second HO, do you think individuals have a God given right to limitless amounts of care at other's expense?
I guess I don't get what your complaint is regarding liberals, death panels etc. If you have unlimited amounts of money I presume you could pay for just about anything you need in the way of care.
If not, you deserve your fate. That's the conservative/catholic way isn't it?
Skippy....Where have you been since the passage of Obamacare? What is it you do not understand about cause & effect? Universal healthcare has been a pet project of liberals for 40 year s& as of this point in time apparently creating as belief it is an entitled right rather then a need one should provide for themselves.
Everything opponents of Obamacare have said has been coming true, many of its staunchest supporters are now saying it was a mistake.
Anyway fewer doctors, stricter hospital admissions, higher healthcare costs, government controls all translate into delays or priorities based on need or allegiance?.......people are going to be denied medical assistance which means people will die based on a government panels discretion.
It is happening where ever universal healthcare has been foisted on the people ....we are somehow going to be different?
Those with the financial means or who have been exempted from mandatory Obamacare participation will be the only exceptions.
You know Skippy sometimes your posts are well thought out ....sometimes they are ridiculous, on this issue you do not have any grasp as to the topic....just read & learn!

Saint Vincent lifers are in for a real shock. They still believe that because Highmark gave them millions to stay afloat they can continue running business as usual. They have this thing known as the quarter century club at St.V's with a high number of employees with 25 or more years of service. While this sounds so wonderful,so experienced, and so one big family,Highmark isn't going to care one dead rat's behind about that if changes can't be implimented that show positive financial turn around. There's a lot of financial turn around to be had there too. It's in the millions of dollars.Don't expect the quarter century club to suddenly show the ability to work in ways differently from their cozy routines. This is where all that experience becomes detrimental to an organization that must change with the times and new regualtions.Highmark isn't going to care if someone has been an endearing fixture at SVHC.They bottom line will dictate who stays and who goes.Strap in for a wild and uncharted ride.

Implying that Highmark/UPMC didn't buy into StV/Hamot for the sole purpose of taking advantage of "Obamacare" for financial gain...

Repeating a lie over and over doesn't make it true.

I will pray for you tom as well as the sisters of saint joseph for selling their identity. it's a shame how money can bend your morals and values. how many jobs have and will be affected by this. I know many of my flock will no longer go there as it is no longer a "CATHOLIC" hospital. amen

The Tuskunga blast, WW II, and the stock market crash of 1929 were all because of Obamacare.
Also, I have this thing on my lower back, and it wouldn't be there if it wasn't for Obamacare. We wouldn't be having all this rain if it wasn't for Obamacare.

Maybe the house GOPers should vote to repeal it for the 41st time. This time it's gonna work!

Do Catholic hospitals also refuse patients who have taken the Lord's name in vein?
How do you do that? With a hypodermic needle?

The Catholic Church is a cult--and a silly one like many others--but I could still respect them somewhat if they were at least consistent in their morality.
But since they aren't I'd recommend against them preaching to others when they aren't lily white themselves.
Taken one up the butt one time too many? Bleeding and infected? Taked Obammy into paying to fix you up again? Come on in!

Dribbling when you should be squirting? Peeing puss there Skippy? Obammy will pay to fix you up, come on in?

Your honey's four illegitimate kids need shots? Bring 'em on in, Obammy's payin!

Health care utopia is upon the degenerates.

Meanwhile if you are a responsible adult, especially one with traditional family values, just shut up and pay. More. For less.

Elections have consequences and the degenerates won.

And as for you and your traditional family values, good for you and your family. A structured/supportive family unit is a blessing, so to speak. But rather than complain all the time about what's wrong you should be rejoicing.
Members of your structured/traditional family should be light years ahead of the competition in the marketplace, the competition being those coming from typical/dysfunctional families. Count your blessings my friend.
They are. Doing quite well as a matter of fact. All went to school, got an education, have a good work ethic, get up go to work, pay their taxes, and contribute to their respective communities.

For that they are targets. Since Obama, you fall into only one of two categories. Another mouth to feed, or a pocket to pick.

No, what I'm saying is that compromise and lobbyists with money often makes for very flawed laws. But as long as a structure of universal coverage is in place, in the future it can be changed to meet constituent needs as politicians are all about keeping their customers happy.
Obamacares ;)
Compromise & lobbyists often make for very flawed laws......so does single party control over both Congress & the Senate as well as the White House....Skippy, remember the Democrats own this piece of garbage,Pelosi & Reid never allowed the Republicans to chime in & refused to read the Bill to even see what was in it. The only lobbyist was Obama who was buying off Congressmen & Senators for their vote & granting exemptions to the Obamacare Bill if & when it became law.
I can understand a prostitute sticking up for a favorite trick who tips well but unless Obama gave you an exemption to taking part in Obamacare or at least paid off your house....your support for him & this monstrosity is ill advised. Prostitutes get paid for service , so do Democratic core members .....Sluts give it away, which are you?
As long as the structure of Univeral coverage is in place? whats next, Universal mortgage insurance? car insurance? household insurance? life insurance? Is there no bottom to the well of everflowing goodness paid for by an ever shrinking class of peoplewho have to pay taxes to support this ignorance?
