As a real disabled veteran it saddens me to read stories of this type. It is people like this that make people question if they should help war veterans because they might just be another con man.
This is about a mans honor, those of whom serve the military live by those words "Duty, Honor and Country" the medals we were awarded, were earned, many men and women deserved medals that were never awarded, for every medal awarded, there are probably 10 others that should have been, not every act of heroism is noticed or given an award for, so for the "waanabe's" to steal the glory, is just dispicable. Shame on them.

I thought POWs also get the Purple Heart. Character flaw and he worked in finance at a car dealership, I'm shocked! Ever see the movie "Fargo"?

was anyone this upset about John Kerry's claims?
(that one about rice in the buttocks that yielded his third purple heart was the best, was it not?)
And shooting the 15 year old viet cong lad in the back, but reported to be fighting off an attack by a group of viet cong was something, as well.)

Smedley- I think you are addressing the wrong issue here. These posts are to discuss the person or situation associated with the article. It is unfair and inappropriate to use one persons poor judgement and wrongdoings to judge and slander an entire industry and group of professionals that work in the car business. These are decent, hardworking individuals..much like yourself I presume.. simply trying to make a living and be an active, taxpaying, member of society.

60 minutes, several years ago, did a story on phony 'heroes'- one of them had his paratooper wings on upside down. all of them were deranged in one way or another, including some who claimed the medal of honor, marched in parades, attracted attention and glory.
John Kerry's book 'winter soldiers' had an abundance of quotes from men who either never served in the military, or who served, but never in vietnam, but claimed eyewitness knowledge of atrocitities there.

And way back in the 1950s at Plattsburgh AFB NY, I served with a lad who was a 17 year old xray technician.(E-2) who bought himself an officer's uniform along with pilot wings, and 2nd lt. bars, posed for a picture at a local photo studio, and apparently sent the pictures to family and friends. The photo studio put a copy of the picture in their window display, and when the air police came looking for him, the lad went AWOL, never to be seen again.

I fought in Vietnam, Beirut and Desert Storm and recommended for a Silver Star for combat action with 1st Bn 1st Marines, but the award was down graded, so I don't wear one. Bring the charges losers, because it's all true.

How could she not know...she saw the purple heart plate & knew when he served and also saw what he was buying off ebay AND LISTENED to his BS stories he told to people about being in. I feel for the kids but there is NO WAY she didn't know. It startrd way before he lost his leg and got into the pain killers. He has a problem and always had. I was in the military when I met him and way back then he told me he was a Captain. ALL lies.

Were you decent enough to ask permission to use the image of a disillusioned Iraq vet who killed himself?

what does this have anything to do with Cunningham Chysler or anyone of the Cunningham family. How about we discuss the numerous things the Cunninghams do for the Community's around them. This matter is concerning Dale Farr and his actions, not his wife or his children. Lets not forget that while we throw stones.

What he has done is peanuts when compared to what President George W. Bush has done to America.
Bush is personally responsible for the deaths of over 4100 Americans and untold thousands of innocent Iraqi's. Not to mention the thousands of American military personnel who received horrendous wounds.
Bus is just as guilty of war crimes against humanity as were the Nazi's and Japanese during World War II.

This week's Military times has an article "Tragic Hero - Iraq war icon found dead from overdose" about Army Pfc Joseph Dwyer's suicide.
