I would love to tell the driver that ran over a little boys dog on 3rd this morning in a pick up truck near the Town Hall and 3rd around 6:45 AM . I hope your happy that little boy seen you run the dog over and never stop . Then a car would not slow down and hit the poor animal again ..We pulled in the turning lane to help the boy with his dog and our car door was open when you pasted us (not going 35 mph)the dog was a small black dapple weeny dog that was following him to school. the boy was 10 and had to see that. Hope you sleep well at night , If you see a animal in the road slow down or a car with a door open to help a animal or a child in the road. and when you see a dog or a cat hit in the road , can't stand when other vehicles keep running it over. Thank you to the police office that stopped and help the boy and took him and his dog home , God Bless You

What kind of truck?? I'm sure if you post it someone will know who the sorry douche is that hit that little boys puppy!!! Call him out, embarrass him maybe he will think twice before being so careless again!! He is lucky he didn't hit that little boy, probably wouldn't have stopped for that either :/

If any knows the little boys mom & dad if they will let the little boy have another dog I know where to get one. I know this one will not replace the one he loss but it might make him feel s little better. Do if anyone finds out let me know on here & I will get the fog for them.

That's so sad :-( I feel for that poor little boy. Honestly though, stopping or swerving to avoid hitting a dog could potentially cause a larger accident in which people could be hurt. I don't know how many other cars were on the road, but if I had to choose to have someone rear end me and possible injure someone in my vehicle or theirs, or hit a dog I'd have to hit the dog. The driver should have pulled over as soon as he/she was able to help with the situation though.
I've noticed that the number of dogs that roam around the streets of Elk is excessive. A painful lesson, but hopefully if this little boys parents have more dogs or get another in the future they'll be more cautious. You can't keep your pets safe if they're wandering around town. Especially on a busy road.

Was the pooch on a leash, or running loose? Is there a doggie daycare at school to babysit the mutt until it's time to go back home? Do you see what's wrong with this picture?

yeah, right; someone needs to go to jail for accidentally running over a dog. give me a break.

maybe if he would have had a leash on his dog it never would have happened in the first place.

the poor dog, if the owner would have cared enough to put a leash on it, it would still be alive today.

Any good owner would have had it cooked after death and invited the neighborhood for the cook out
