Only a ten thousand dollar bond? That's 1.200 to bond out. I bet he left because he was worried about his woman . Most embarrassing for the sheriff's dept. The other trustes are probably on lock down thanks to him.

I think I know how this might end. I think he is still holed up in the woods. Hopefully he wasn't fool enough to try and cross the bayou in 38 degree weather. If so, he stands a good chance of getting hypothermia. If there is no trace of him in the next few days, Watch for buzzards hovering in the air, he may still be in the woods, and not coming out on his own.

Fellow inmates are the first to know he was missing. But there is a code among thieves, no one said anything for ten minutes, and that was all it took. And there is no such thing as Razor wire. It is snag wire. Nothing sharp about it. Its just real hooky.

and he didn't walk out the laundry department. He was let out of the laundry room. The jail is designed so that there is no need for the laundry workers to exit the building at any time. He may have been let out to get supplies in another area, or possibly to empty trash. He didn't pick a lock, and he didn't find a door that was open. They cannot be left unlocked.
