And don't forget, when you buy crawfish, ask them to put it on the scale. These seafood dealers are shady people.
You people wouldn't complain about crawfish prices,if y'all worked as hard as theses farmers....the price is soo low right now,not even worth fishing the pond!

So much hard work. Yea right. Most farmers has someone hired to run the traps. They pay the poor helper about the price of a sack of crawfish a day and sometime they catch a few hundred sacks for the farmer.
Oh and did I tell you that most of it is all CASH for the farmer. So you can go and try your saying to some one don't know what goes on in the fields over here

I don't hear you complaining about your designer clothes made by some child at a sweat shop in India. No one makes any one work. Some people would be happy to make 50 bucks for a days work. I have several people on my rolodex that would be glad to crawfish for 50 aday. Times are hard.

My daughter crawfishes to save money for college because coming from a farming family we can't afford to pay for it. She gets up every morning and goes to town to buy her gas, bait and sacks. She goes back to the pond and cuts up her fish and baits and fishes 200 hundred acres by herself. When she finishes, she cleans her cans and her boat and repairs broken cages, because she can't afford new ones. She is only getting a 1.25 for number ones. Her buyer pays her by check, but every once in a while someone calls her for a sack and will pay her 1.50 to 2.00. The middle man used to make 5 cents a lb, now they have gotten greedy and are making more than the farmer who puts out all the expense and labor. I am very proud of her, because she has a very good work ethic and it is very hard work for a young lady who weighs only 115 lbs but she works as hard as her brothers who are twice her size.

I myself got teary eyed, what a hard worker, you don't find that too often. Girls doing hard labor intense work. You taught her well!
Bless her this morning, hope she has Neopreen gloves, that water is cold!
