State Patrol heading to Leavenworth for Oktoberfest

The State Troopers were nowhere to be found while hoodlums were assaulting tourists at Leavenworth this past weekend.

One of my friends sits in Harborview with a shattered eye socket and broken nose awaiting surgery and a in a great deal of pain. There was absolutely no provocation for this attack on a man taking his wife and daughter on a "fun" weekend to enjoy Leavenworth.

Several assaults occurred during the weekend - and the police are doing NOTHING to catch these lowlife's.

Leavenworth, worth it? I think not.

I am so very sorry to hear that. It seems to be getting worse and worse each year. The fights I saw at the Fest Hall just from my house were completely unacceptable and the security seemed to be adding to all the confusion. DUIs could have been handed out by the millions, I guess the Leavenworth Chambers is waiting for someone to die before any action is taken. Again sorry about your friend.

Thank you so much. I have written a letter to the Wenatchee World and plan to contact the Chamber tomorrow. For the life of me, why any town would want to invite heavy drinking without having police everywhere and obvious is beyond my comprehension and shows little compassion for the tourists on which they depend.

My friend could have been killed and the long term affects of this attack or yet unknown. He will be out of work for at least 5 weeks.

I still don't see that a crime report has been filed. It is just unacceptable that this kind of brutal attack is being ignored.
