I love this place also. I just wish I didn't have to wait behind 2 people smelling and debating on lotions and having the rules and packages explained to them. And in the end, all I end up saying is... Everything's the same, no I don't need anything, and yes I have my eye wear. Wham bam thank you ma'am. And I'm in a tanning bed as quick as you know it. And out the door in 16 min tops. Sometimes it takes those girls 16 min to sell a package and a tanning lotion.

They only stay open Til 10 in the summer [/QUOTE]Yes, I know but I'm pretty sure they didn't last summer because there were quite a few times when I went around 9:30 and they would already be closed. I think they closed at 9 last summer, but I hope they do start staying open later. Btw, I'm talking about the one on Locust Ave. I think the one on east side did stay open later :-)

I am the manager at Lion in the Sun and I would liek to clear up a few things:
1) If there are 2 people working, 1 of them is a salon assistant whose job is to keep beds clean and assist around the salon to keep things running smoothly. They are seasonal employees and are NOT trained on the computer system so they are not able to put you into a bed.
2)I can assure you the owner has, at no time in 19 years of owning this business, ever just stood around and not taken care of customers. She is the single solid reason LITS has been in business this long and continues to grow and prosper.
3)I aplologize if you have had to wait behind someone making a purchase, but wouldn't you like the same service if you were wanting to choose from over 50 products and various packages to find one that best suits you? Each customer is important to us and deserves as much time as they need to make a decsion on how to spend their hard earned money.
4) We are continually working on maintenance of our salons. If you are referring to the volume knobs in a couple of the rooms at the Morgantown Ave salon, we have addressed them multiple times and will look into it again. We have Sirius radio at all salons that are set on stations with a variety of music. If it does not suit you, you are welcome to bring an Ipod. Some of our beds at the Kingmont and Locust Ave salons are mp3 compatible so you can play your own music through the bed.
5) We have never had an employee by the name of Shasta.
6) Our beds are fully functional. If there is ever a problem or a bulb out, we shut the bed down until it is fixed. Our smallest salon has 12 beds, so Cub, you must be mistaken - we have NEVER had a bed with "half the bulbs out".
7) We would greatly appreciate coming to us personally if you have an issue instead of inappropriately slandering us and making untrue statements on a public forum.
I was in 4 the other day. On east side. No volume knob.

If there's no volume knob to turn down the Ricky Martin station that's on volume 78 extra loud, then an iPod is pointless

Does it really matter about the music. I have never heard it being that loud. I go to tan. I don't go there to listen to music Your doing a wonderful job lion in the sun!!

do you people honestly think that the ONLY people who tan are under the age of 18? MOST tanning salons around here you HAVE to be 18 to tan in them. Not many people under the age of 18 have money to pay for the tanning bed package so its ADULTS who pay that money who NO MATTER WHAT will be able to tan.
just sayin

In an economy where prices have risen on just about everything, our prices have not changed in four or so years. Adding an additional employee would raise our overhead costs, therefore forcing us to raise our prices which I'm sure everyone would like to avoid. Again, my apologies if you have had to wait in line. That is not going to be the case all day everyday but we have no way of predicting when there will be a wait.
I went to the Morgantown Ave, salon this evening and checked on all of the busted volume knobs you are referring to. There is a total of 1 knob and 1 speaker wire that needs replaced, and rest assured we will have it fixed as soon as we find someone to do so.
Again to anyone on here who found something to be unsatisfactory in our salons, please simply bringing it to an employee's attention instead of berating us on a public forum. I hope this puts an end to this conversation
I was in room 4 today. No volume knob. Just sayin.

The complaint isn't about what kind of music is playing, it's the fact that the beds DON'T work half the time and you CAN'T hear the music!! The other complaint is it's RIDICULOUS to have two or three employees just standing behind the counter while only ONE of them is waiting on ONE customer!! The other employee/employees could be waiting on the other customers standing in line!!
Not everyone who works there works the counter. They have girls called bed runners who are trained to clean ONLY and have no knowledge of how to work the computers. Know what you're talking about. You sound idiotic.

I bet they're called bed runners for more reasons than you're implying.
