Union rep. You are a idiot. I will gladly cherish the day when these blood sucking unions are gone. You are lazy, greedy, and worthless- the only job you do is complain.
Just wait... FGH unions will be gone soon. Yes YODA (your online document archive) has the salaries, I am very familiar with the site.

"Salaries over 55k are available on the internet through the hospital authority and the executives dont make much compared to what a lot of other hospital executives make. You will however, see lpn's on the list making 80k a year which is ridiculous."
How do you access this information? Hospital Authority?
#23 Sep 4, 2013
How did those LPN's make 80k? I wonder if it was covering shifts for chronically understaffed and overworked RN's who called off and/or quit? In other words, the usual at Ruby/Mon/UHC/FGH. I've worked at them and had family that did too.
At least they do hands on patient care, rather than sitting in an office or dreaming up the next wing to build that cant be staffed properly.

Under the "Document" section, choose "over 55k paid" and search for Fairmont General. Fair warning though. You will be furious when you read it. LPNs making more than most of us, worthless directors making close to six figures, the lady in the IS dept who only knows how to tell people to reboot their computer making a ton.....I cant wait to see them cut some of these salaries (as long as it's not mine, of course).

There are many in the area who wish FGH would close. May they be reminded of the long trip to UHC or Ruby for a headache, cut on the finger, sore throat, earache, runny nose, and belly aches. Good luck.

Just to clarify, my last post was in reply to MrM...
#28 Sep 5, 2013
Get a real job instead of collecting your union salary with others hard work.
#29 Sep 5, 2013
My role in the union is unpaid and entirely volunteer. The only recompense I receive is lost wages for meetings, and a small stipend for expenses I incur as a result of my 20-30 additional hours a week of union work, above and beyond my full-time employment at the hospital.
Maybe you should go be ignorant somewhere else.
#30 Sep 6, 2013
Umm, if you are getting paid for your time, you are not unpaid. It may be a "small" stipend, but if it's for time... your getting paid.
#31 Sep 6, 2013
Yes. I work at FGH also. You will see the unions gone soon enough. I will ensure you will lose your job by the time this is over. Walmart is hiring.
#32 Sep 6, 2013
Durr Durr Durrr! If you get a stipend then your work is not unpaid! Geesh, gotta love the ignorant people that place hires.
#33 Sep 7, 2013
Why is 80K per year ridiculous for an LPN? If someone has many many years of experience then they deserve to be compensated for it. Do you expect them to make minimum wage? What is ridiculous is people at FGH who were hired because they know someone and have NO experience or no education but a high school education and they put her in administration. The wages of administration are what are ridiculous and the bonuses. How about handing out the bonuses to the real workers...the nurses, the aids, medical assistants, housekeeping, etc.

I received a check from the billing dept this week for $1.44, with no explanation. I hope that wasnt the final straw.
#35 Sep 7, 2013
Right on, Union rep. Speak it! They dont want to hear it but that doesnt change the facts.
#36 Sep 9, 2013
The stipend is for notebooks, pens, gas for travel, stuff like that. It's not for my time, although the way I worded that in my last post, it could be read that way. And as for you, MrM... I sincerely doubt you work at FGH. Most of the people there are decent and hardworking, and you don't seem to fit that description. However, on the off chance you do work there and you are non-union, may I suggest you sign a union card as soon as possible before the rape begins. Ooops, too late! It's started. If you are 550 or 1199, then you're just being an asshole. Either way, working at FGH or not, union or not, you're a troll, your comments aren't worth reading or responding to anymore, and like I said before, maybe you should go be ignorant somewhere else.
#37 Sep 9, 2013
I see some comments that are very negative and mean toward FGH staff.Keep in mind this is a very public site and these comments are seen by our patients and their families. Sometimes it is very hard not to respond, but in this case it the best thing to do. We don't want the public looking down at the staff at FGH because of the ignorant people posting on here. MrM if you are a employee of FGH maybe this is the best time you look for employment elsewhere if you think so little of your co-workers and the future of the facility!
This is coming from a hard working union employee !
#38 Sep 9, 2013
No offense, because I completely understand what you're trying to say. However, the community already looks down on that facility and its staff. I can't tell you how many times I've heard people in public make comments about the poor care and rude employees there. Just a few weeks ago I heard a guy in line at walmart talking about how he wouldn't send his dog to fgh. It's also not uncommon for me to get weird looks when I tell someone I work there. It's one of those situations where you know they are thinking bad things in their head but they dont want to say it in fear of hurting my feelings. And lets be honest....there are A LOT of stupid people that work there.
#39 Sep 11, 2013
Like you don't hear people talk about UHC & Ruby the same way ! It's every hospital not just FGH..There are a lot of stupid people work everywhere !
#40 Sep 11, 2013
Haven't heard anything bad about Ruby. But I'm sure some things get said. I just know a lot of people in Fairmont who drive to UHC or Mon Gen to go to the ER instead of visiting FGH
