Sign him or her up for Marion County Pony League. If they are serious about baseball try to avoid Little League.

Fairmont little league is a bunch of grown men trying to play fantasy baseball with 10-12 year olds it is pretty pathetic actually. Overgrown babies trying to stack teams with their "all star" kids.

450 kids play ball in the league. Sometimes have problems getting people to coach. If you are worried about whose team your kid will be on then coach.

As long as your not on Billy Willkersons team! we had him in the past and he plays daddy ball and sucks as a coach. He will be nice to whoever is great and doesn't want to coach the entire team...miserable... Some people go to watch his games just to hope he loses

They posted their AllStar teams and its interesting to note that every board member with a child old enough to be on an AllStar team has their child on one.

The 9-10 team & 10-11 team have multiple kids that barely got a hit in A-Ball, but they were moved up cause of who daddy was. There are kids that got stuck in B-Ball that were better players, but could NEVER be named to the 10-11 team because then they would be admitting they should have been playing A-Ball instead of some of the kids that were moved up.

Then you have the 11-12 team that has 9 players picked via players votes, and 4 "coach picks". One parent bought their kid onto the team by taking the coach's son and 2 other kids to the mall at a travel tourney and bought those kids $300+ each in shoes. Instead of picking the 4 best remaining players, the coach picked his buddies kids.

Well I have to say that this is the second year my son has played for BILLY WILKERSON & we have had one perfect season with him & this year a near perfect season! And as far as daddy ball...I don't think so!! His son was always the short stop until my son came along so little do you know HE COACHES FAIR & COACHES ALL THE KIDS...NOT JUST HIS OWN!! My son well deserves his spot on the All-Star team because he played & hit his a** off to be there! For those whose kids did not get picked quit being jealous of the kids that were picked & maybe before you criticize the current coaches who volunteer their time, grow some balls & try it out yourself! IT'S PROBABLY NOT AS EASY TO COACH AS YOU THINK!

SUCK/Stephanie Yelich.... perhaps you should listen to parents on your own teams view of your coach before coming on here spouting off. Also, most on here are smart enuff to not post identifying info, but obviously that goes beyond your comprehension! LOL

Billy has probably forgot more about baseball than most know around here. He is a winning coach and that is why people want to see him lose. He chooses his teams on talent when he can because he is competative. That is the name of the game. Kids and parents should understand that. And some kids are born with natural talent and some are not. Some have dads that coach and know nothing about the game and some play with no help from dads. So just sit back and watch the results. You might learn something

Remember the time when there was no internet or online forums. Kids could be kids. There was no worries in life, everyone could go to the ballpark and not have to talk behind someones back. There are more important things in life then a baseball season or where a kid plays. What about family, scool, church? These are the things that we need to worry about in life. Some kids do not even know where their next meal is coming from or where they will sleep at night.

Some people just don't get it! THERE'S NO CRYING IN BASEBALL! I teach my son to practice because there is always someone working harder than you. I agree some kids don't deserve to be where they are but if you work hard enough its almost undenialbe for your child to not be picked. Coaches play to win isn't that the name of the game, if your child is doing an outstanding job and showing skills that other children may not have of course some guy with a competitive bone is going to scoop them up. Lets face it winning is the name of the game. I don't agree with teaching kids everyones a winner that's not how it works folks whether its sports work or life in general you can't always win. And for the creep that called out a mothers name SHAME ON YOU JOKER....other people play short stop on Wilkersons team besides his son and that ladies son. Many other leagues around if your not happy at MLR

My kids played FLL. they were expected to know everything about baseball before T ball. Only coaches kids got the best positions and the last one of mine played bball on a team with a manager, a coach, and seven dads helping coach. You know whose kids played. FLL has way too many daddies. Most of the so called "stars" don't even play high school ball, so much for the pros!

@ Talkaboutajoke Obviously you have no idea what your talking about..I have watched B-Ball all year and i have to say the Majority of the 9 year olds that moved up are far better than the 10 year olds that didnt make A-Ball and as far as i have seen little Cameron Hines is one heck of a player so really its ok your kid didnt make the ALL STARS dont get mad become a coach and spend more time working with your kid and maybe just maybe he will make it next year but just to tell you as a coach in FLL i would pick a kid who isnt the best over a kid who might be better because their parent is a jerk off like you..Maybe you should sit back and really think about that statement..
For someone that talks about being a coach and watching things, you would think you would know that not 1 single 9yr old got called up this year to A-Ball. Only 10's and 11's.
Also, I did not see where anyone said anything negative about any specific player (all kids)--only comments were about adults. I am an A-Ball parent and "little Cameron Hines" as you called him is probably a better player than 90% of the kids playing A-Ball.

Just FYI:
I think the 9 year olds they are referring to about moving up are the ones who were asked for the all-star team. 9 year olds can't play regular season A-ball until they turn 10

I have no involvement with Fairmont Little League nor do I want to. I just enjoy getting on here to read what is posted on the Fairmont Forum & rarely do I ever comment but after reading this discussion I do have something I would like to say. Sounds as if some parents are mad about what team certain kids are on and who the coaches are but when it comes to sports as your kids get older you don't get a choice of what team or what coach you get...IF YOU REALLY LOVE THE GAME OR MORE IMPORTANTLY IF YOUR KID LOVES THE GAME YOU PLAY NO MATTER WHAT THE CIRCUMSTANCE!! I played baseball my entire life even through college & I didn't always like the coach or the position I was put in but it didn't matter because I loved the game. I've seen a lot of little league games and "LITTLE CAMERON HINES " as everyone has referred to him as is an awesome player & rumor has it that he's probably the best 10 year old in the state of WV so Fairmont Little League should be proud to have him around & If my kid (I have none) had the opportunity to play on an All-Star team with him, it would be a great honor. So all of you adults that seem so jealous should just be happy for these kids that did make it & be proud that you have players in your area with just raw talent. Once the games start & you get the results it will prove in the end if the right kids were picked for the team. Then you may or may not be able to criticize! Until then don't let Jealousy be a disease that consumes your lives! Just saying!

I'm guessing you don't think then! There have been 9 year olds moved up to A Ball previously. There are current A-Ballers that started in A-Ball when they were 9, including the son of the coach that's been mentioned previously in this thread.

There are 9's on this years team because there were not enough 10's moved up to A-ball this year to make an entire team. Unless they are downright horrible, FLL will always put an A baller on a team before they would choose a B baller that has played fantastic.
Really without any clue

Agreed that there are players that deserve to be there, but the issue is that every year there are kids picked NOT based on their talent, but who daddy and mommy are <coach, assistant coach or board member>. This holds true for both "Majors" and the All Star teams. Someone else correctly pointed out earlier that EVERY board member with a child old enough, has a kid ON one of the 3 "All-Star" teams. I have watched every A ball team play multiple games, and there are kids that were "selected" that played horribly. The 11-12 team has 9 players voted on BY the players and then the coaches get to pick 4 additional players. The 9-10 and 10-11 teams are picked purely by the board and coaches selected to coach those teams. Yes, many of the kids picked deserve to be there, but there are many that have no business being there.
