Privatizing a jail? Really? This sounds like incarceration for profit. The suggestion itself sounds absurd to me. How can this be good for the employees of the jail, the inmates or the citizens of Ellis County? Let's say this becomes reality. The quality of the employees who will accept lower pay could very well bring in less qualified individuals which in turn could affect the safety of fellow employees and inmates. How is that good for any of us? What happens to the current employees benefits? As an Ellis County citizen I do not support and will not vote for such a change in the current management of the Ellis County jail.

Hard to imagine less qualified than those that operate it now. It won't happen Ellis already has incarceration for profit
