Review: Milestone Dental Of Waxahachie

I must say I visited Milestone dentistry today and I cant wait to go back! All of the staff including Dr. Shuman are so personable and caring. I am sending my son and my husband later this week and I know they will enjoy their experience as well. I take pride in my smile and now that I have Milestone I know this smile is gonna be radiant for many years to come! I walked out today feeling like a million bucks! And with a stack of referral cards!

I would NOT recommend this place to anyone solely based on their billing. Twice now I have been there and gotten a bill for services in addition to what I was told it would cost even though they were in network for my insurance and I should not have received any bills other than what I was told to pay for my services due to the fact that they have a fee schedule from my insurance they are supposed to follow. The first time I tried to give them the benefit of the doubt because human error just happens but the second time it was for a substantial amount more and I simply could not let it slide this time. I called the office and explained to their office manager Sarah what had happened. I told her that the lady that came in the room and went over the costs with me explained to me that these were my costs, I even requested that they be sure these would be the costs because it was for such a large amount of money and I had already had a problem with their billing. I was told they would check but they did not, they never called my insurance company but claimed that they did. When I mentioned this to Sarah she said the piece of paper they had given me and gone over with me was "only an estimate" when I mentioned that I requested that I asked them to be sure that these were the costs so I did not end up paying more she said she trains everyone on what to say and "some people just hear what they want to hear" I can only assume by people she meant me and that she was basically calling me a liar. I'm not sure exactly what she meant by that but I feel I took her words for what she really meant to say. I did not appreciate her poor customer service or them not being truthful about something as simple as submitting a pre authorization to my insurance company. She even went as far during our phone conversation to mention that they had "had problems with me in the past" because I missed a couple of Monday appointments about a year ago, they were at 8 am and they just skipped my mind. I was very truthful about it & didn't try to lie when I called the office to reschedule them, it was a genuine accident and I'm not sure how those played into the current billing issue that I was addressing but yet she felt the need to bring it back up for whatever reason. As a dentist they seem to be very knowledgeable but customer service will make or break a business and when you treat your customers poorly and over charge them and aren't truthful with them about basic things they're not going to want to come back no matter how knowledgeable you might be about your job. When I mentioned that I would finding a new dentist due to the constant billing issues she very flatly replied "ok". The simple fact that she did not even care enough to even help remedy the billing issue in any way when it was very obviously not my fault or care to salvage my business in any way speaks volumes to me. I personally felt like she didn't care at all about my business or if I ever came back due to a couple of appointments I missed a very long time ago. As a business you should make your customers feel like you value their business no matter the situation and she made it very clear that she DID NOT care about my business whatsoever and I unfortunately I will now be on the hunt for a new dentist.

That is the sad state of affairs in this country right now. People are so crappy to each other. Have
you ever noticed that most Dr's offices and DDs's all have female staff that are so rude, so apathetic
and frankly, down right lazy and uncaring. It really is pitiful and a shame. I find most places visited
now have these kinds of employees, doesn't mean I am making excuses for them . This has become
our norm and when you ACTUALLY get good service, that is the rarity. So many business owners
are blind to this kind of crap from their employees. All that lady had to do is say to the DDS, well, she
was a problem patient. Everyone thinks one patron leaving doesn't matter. I am sure they think
one patient leaving? Who cares? We have plenty of patience.
I have noticed I have gotten vengeful in my old age. I am sick of putting up with people like this. When I get this type of service, I tell everyone I know, Chat boards, Face Book whatever. Loss of
revenue is the ONLY way these people will wake up...
So wake up already, Midlothian/Waxahchie/Maypearl, they all used to be great little communities,
not any more. Sad Sad Sad
I am sure some TROLL in Midlothian will respond negatively to my post, but guess what? I do not
care. I have an opinion and I live in the USA and I have freedom of speech.

I've been coming to milestone dental for about 2 years and I love them!!!!!!
The girls at the front desk are always helpful and friendly. The office is always smelling fresh and clean. And when I leave the office I'm always pleased with my teeth. I haven't ever had any problems.
