Also, many patients who have Autism spectrum disorders get misplaced at Bergen Regional Hospital. The doctors do not have a clue on how to handle both their medical, neurological and mental needs. This problem should also be taken into consideration.

One patient was "played doctor" to and recieved medication that would have made his condition worse. This problem should also be taken into consideration.

I have always been suicidal and I was in that hospital a few times temporarily it isn't a good hospital in my opinion. It's kind of like your on your own I'm not surpised that this happen at all it was only a matter of time. Some of the people are really nice but most just are there for the pay check. I'm surprised the person could have a belt though because we weren't allowed belts but they didn't really monitor us as much as they should've. The person probably killed themselves because being in bergen is really boring and they let people hog up the tv. I just would not recommend anyone go to that hospital for mental health treatment.

Where would you recommend for treatment of a mental illness?

I heard about this place called the summit. Perhaps people should just go to a dif. mental institution all together. I would strongly do research on the whole thing.Unfortunately Bergen was the only mental institution I was placed in so I can't even begin to start rating other hospitals that deal with mental health.
