Every year schools have been using Dr.Kings holiday for "Makeups" It shows the lack of respect for what he worked and gave his life for....equal rights for all!!!!! For all who think his work is complete...think again there is still plenty of work to do!!!! Pick another holiday for your "makeups" or take a day from"spring break"

What have these people done with what king got for them, Very little, Still running in gangs killing each other, Crime and fulling up our prisons. Blacks have more of chance today to make something out of themselves and most just live off the government do drugs and booze and blame the white man for their short comings. Quit whining go to school and get a job the hard working white tax payer is paying for all of it you have nothing to loose.
King died for nothing.
Clearly racism still goes on today.

As hateful as this gentlemen's wording comes across statistically it is unfortunately accurate. Numbers do not lie and although there are many people if different races who are involved in illegal activities, sponge off the government and just generally do not lead productive lives it seems as though Mr.Kings' efforts in many cases is not appreciated and taken for granted. Instead of using his legacy as inspiration many have developed a sense of entitlement in this country. Nothing comes for free, right? Well unfortunately it seems a large portion of this population does not feel this way because their ancestors were mistreated and enslaved they should now live off "the white man". Every nationality and race if researched can find a time in history when they were oppressed. This is not a pass for future generations to continue the cycle. We must be responsible for our own individual actions and behaviors. If it sounds racist so be it if you live in a predominantly African American community then by all means the schools if time allows in the yearly schedule should observe this holiday if not then its not the be all end all. As a parenent if you feel the public school system has failed to do so it then becones the families individual responsibility to educate their children about the people in history who have sacrificed for our benefit. I personally am tierd of the race card being played.

good response... So true. It would be so much more affective for someone like this to brag about something of substance but that would be a lie at the end of the day. In all reality the truth isvobviously to much for some to bare so let mr.ed live in his fantasy world in which he belongs to the superior race.

We are all God's children and we should think like that everyday. Crime is committed by all. He who is without sin cast the first stone.

As far as African Americans, (and to a greater extent, Africans), being the most hated race on Earth, haters are admirers in disguise, as it is a known, scientifically-proven fact that mankind originated in Africa. :)

i can only speak for myself. If I do not like someone or something the last thing I am is an "admirer in disguise". That reverse psychology may work in some areas but not here in this discussion today. As for the topic that is being debated here it was said best a few posts past. Numbers do not lie and the saddest facts reelect the majority of the crimes commuted are black in black. Therefore who really hates who? What's up with the self hatred? How about getting rid of the bs braggadocio nonsense and narrcasistic attitude. We can talk all day about were mankind originated but where did it evolve? Definatley not Africa my friends?

Daily Horoscope for May 25

Virgo

You have energy to burn today and it needs positive outlets, otherwise you'll be rather ratty and impatient. You want to work on activities that will show you in a good light, and you'll be annoyed if anyone objects to what you're doing or points out where you're going wrong. If you've been nursing a secret passion for someone, the frustration will really get to you.
