Man arrested following grouper incident

If you throw that fish in the water you're going to jail An Englewood man was arrested at the El Jobean fishing pier Monday after a Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission officer found him with a goliath grouper, an FWC report said. via North Port Sun

"Barko was arrested on charges of possession of a goliath grouper, resisting an officer without violence and tampering with evidence. He was booked into the Charlotte County Jail and was released on $4,000 bond."

Wish they were as diligent in going after the drug dealers off Dearborn street.

the problem with these wildlife officers is they are given to much power, we as the people always have to sign a petition in order to get them to back off, its all about money when it comes to them, they do nothing but cause disturbances for people trying to enjoy thereselves, im a true fisherman and they protect these grouper saying there endangered and there are so many its unbelievable, we as the people need to stand together against agency such as these to put them in there place, 1 person will get no where

As a dive boat captain in the Keys for 15 years, we noticed that the reef points we went out to were being cleaned of fish and replaced with the 1-3 resident Jewfish (I hate PC). The time is past to lift the restriction on the taking of Jewfish. The population has definately come back, and then some.
