I am looking to get married in Colorado during the 2010 summer and could really use some advice on selecting a location. I am expecting my wedding to be over 120, but less than 200 (large range, sorry!). I would prefer an outdoor wedding with amazing mountain views, but would also like to consider indoor locations that can support the party size and view preferences. I am currently looking at Boulder and Breckenridge, but am open to other locations.

Does anyone have any advice to offer?

Estes Park, Red Rocks, Garden of the Gods, and many other places offer venues for any size event...
Visit the Colorado Tourism Board, and see what they suggest as well...
Congratulations, and good luck with your planning...

Buy a pre-paid legal plan for when you get divorced.

How much are you willing to spend, a little, moderate or are you going all out?

I am looking to spend moderately, but I will not skimp on the important things like the right location.

You could try the Denver Botanic Gardens at Chatfield.

Check into locations in some of the smaller mountain communities, stay away from resort towns...

I agree fully however not all resort towns are that bad or expensive, Asspen and Vail, yes, but there are other "resorts" that are very moderate.

My suggestion was going to be my turf, the Yampa Valley which encompasses Steamboat Springs, Hayden and Craig, with a host of other small "don't blink" burgs scattered about the four county area of the valley. It's all backed by the Gore Range, Flattops and Mount Zirkel Wilderness areas and the Elkhead Mountain range which are surrounded by two major National Forests...the Routt and White River N.F.'s are simply stunning and a perfect setting for a wedding outdoors. Steamboat is pricey to stay but you may be able to pull it off reasonably and moderately. Craig will be more affordable when it comes to lodging and other amenities, but it is 40 miles west, the drive is nice though and it is a good escape from the resort feel for a day. Steamboat Lake recreation area is beautiful with Hahn's peak in the backdrop...Mount Werner (ski area) is popular for weddings, especially mid mountain, aka Thunderhead. Hayden is a bedroom community between SB and Craig, not many amenities such as lodging but it has access to hundreds of others.
Right now, compared to years of past, it is greener than heck making the scenery very attractive, especially at dawn and dusk. Outdoor weddings are very popular up here, mainly due to the endless scenery.
I'm no travel agent/wedding planner/business owner/millionaire 2nd homeowner of any sort, I live here for a reason, it's beautiful, affordable and accessible. Steamboat IS the "resorty" type but with that local, down home small town feel, I simply love the place and will eventually die here.
Good luck in your search, I can give you more if interested:)

Daily Horoscope for December 3

Cancer

Take it easy today, or the most insignificant things will get you down in no time. A difficult letter in the post, or a tricky conversation with a loved one, will sink your spirits down to your ankles. Ugh. Life is not as tough as it seems right now, so keep reminding yourself that we can choose to feel better. A bar of delicious chocolate, or a tasty savoury snack might help a little, too...
