most likely when blockbuster starts their streaming service, you will have to wait 28 days with them too - unless you pay 2.99 (or whatever the cost) to stream it separately like you do now.

blockbuster did not get the contract. Nobody got the contract right now. Starz is afraid that by streaming through netflix or any similar streaming service nobody would pay for their cable tv. a lot of netflix users have had their cable tv completely turned off or just not subscribing to the movie tiers anymore. Starz is protecting the value of their cable service. That is not to say they will not eventually have a service similar to hbo to go.

I was also thinking that by saying they are not renewing this far in advance if it could be a ploy to force netflix to come up with more money. Service will be cut off March 1 so there is still plenty of time.
you got that right Alpha

Tru it doesn't matter bb will have a huge advantage because they do offer a larger variety of content. Also the have long time relationships with the studios and because they are owned by dish they have more leverage to offer in business negotiations. All in all they pose a huge threat and are back in the competition. It will exciting to see what bb offers in there streaming subscription. Service.

One comment I have is that Blockbuster also has GAMES! I don't play games, but my kids are thrilled at the prospect.

Give me a source that says blockbuster will be streaming games. I cannot find nothing about it. Right now from what I read, it will be business as usual with games.

Classic Blockbuster second-mover style. The pioneer/first-mover dominates. In this case, the pioneer/first-mover is Netflix. When will Blockbuster learn?
