<quoted text>You are lucky, I've got 60 mi. round trip to the closest hd dealer. I get a lot of parts from JP cycle also belong to their gold club what they don't have Dennis Kirk does. Some things I like to keep original thats what keep me away from Trumph and about 200 mile to the closest dealer.lol
Yea well you might want to stay away from Triumph then. But carbs are the only thing they give you problems with. Their carbs are easy to work on. Thats why I like Triumph they keep things simple still.

I hated to see hd go to fi now when you do a little tuning you got to go get a laptop, I would heck of a lot rather rejet a carb than mess with a computer.lol

Yea I don't think FI was the way to go for them either. Now you can't push start one if the Battery is down.

Yeah and with mine the idle is too fast and make it hard on the trans, I like my idle about 800~~850 the FI set about 1000 rpm makes the trans pop when you put it in gear, can't get it any lower.

The trick to that is a Baker 6 speed tranny. Won't help your rpm's but it will soften the trans pop. Big Bucks.

I have heard of those trans but I've never used one, they are suppose to be the best. I have tinkered all winter and out of funds now so I'll probably have to put up with the clunk until next winter.lol

You're right I'm on my second HD and have a small fortune in it but most has been to add extras to it, I can go to that shop for an oil change and leave a 100.00 before I come out.lol

Try to learn to do your own work if you can.If not find you an independant shop and make friends with them and you can save a lot of cash with that HD.You are ridding a name that is in for the money. After warrentee they rape you for cash.

I do my own work, I was just talkin 4 qts oil and 1 filter and 1 qt primary oil for a change no labor. I use AMS oil and K&N oil filter now, after the warrenty is up I don't let them near my bike. lol

You may be able to order your oil and filters. I use K&N on my hypercharger clean and oil it once a year.I'm still a castrol 20/50 guy it's served me well for many years.

Yeah I do order them, I would never be able to find anything like that here and if I did it would cost a fortune. I started with AMS oil a few years ago in my stang and just stayed with it, seems to work for me.
