We haven't even sworn in the newly elected president and "the Press" can't wait to begin pounding us with 2012 presidential election coverage. Isn't there anything else going on in the world? This presidential "obsession" is like following the Queen of England, or worse, like following Brittany Spears or Paris Hilton in the United States. Let's get off this ridiculous obsession with who's going to be president and get on with solving some real issues in this country. If the founding fathers ever thought we (...the press) would have glorified the Presidency as much as we do now, they would have re-thought this third branch of government. The American Revolution was meant to remove us from a "King", yet the press does everything it can to build this office into "super-God-like" status. I guess it's because all reporters can do now is sit in their cubicules and write their fantasies about cult figures; the President included. And of course the more sexually tintalating, the story the more the Press eats it up. And the media wonders why it can't make any money? Just read your own paper...it's Paris Hilton, Brittany Spears and "who's going to be the President", over and over and over again. So boring....so boring....

Ms. Altimari, thank you for a fair article about TeamSarah.org . Some of us are a bit gun shy about the press because of the overall treatment of Sarah Palin, which was unfortunately received loud and clear by many people as seen in the comments section here.

Governor Sarah Palin is not an uneducated moose hunter with one brain cell.[And neither are her supporters.] But that is what a lot of the pro-Obama media portrayed her as, and too many people believe everything they read.

To those who think Team Sarah is all about Governor Palin and the 2012 election, stop on by to see all the other local political activities that members are making each other aware of and are getting involved in.

We realize that there's a lot of work to be done to revive conservatism in this country. And we don't even know if Governor Palin is going to run for President. But she got many of us who were not involved in politics previously to see the importance in a democracy of getting involved.

A government of the people, by the people, and for the people will only be as good as those people who get involved.

If any of you are really interested in following Governor Palin, you can get the real story at the following sites:

An undereducated joke.
An under educated joke? Really? Well then let’s list just a few of Governor Palin’s many accomplishments within her biography and see if that’s true.
She served two terms as a City Council member from 1992–1996. Served two terms as mayor from 1996–2002 after which she was term limited out. She chaired the Alaska Oil and Gas Conservation Commission (AOGCC) from 2003-2004 serving as ethics supervisor. The AOGCC is an important job and is the regulatory body that oversees oil and natural gas production, leases and environmental concerns and where 7 out of every 10 jobs in Alaska are connected.
Governor Palin is currently the chairman of the National Governors Association energy committee.
As governor she is leading her state and the country to energy independence by negotiating and passing the Alaskan Gasline Inducement Act (AGIA), something that previous Alaskan administrations were unable to accomplish.
On December 5, 2008, Governor Palin joined by other state commissioners signed the historic AGIA License. The AGIA License was awarded jointly to Trans Canada and Foothills Pipe Lines to build the historic 1,715mile natural gas pipeline running from Prudhoe Bay, Alaska down to the Alberta Hub in Canada. It will be the largest construction project in history and when completed, it will supply 4.5 billion cubic feet a day of clean natural gas to the lower 48 benefiting thousands of Americans. http://www.gov.state.ak.us/news.php... and http://www.youtube.com/watch...
Governor Palin is the Commander-In-Chief of the Alaska National Guard and the Alaskan Guard is the only state guard that is on permanent deployment.
Because of Alaska’s unique location, Alaska is the first line of defense to us all in the lower 48 should Russia, North Korea or China ever become aggressive. As such, Governor Palin receives regular security briefings from Homeland Security and other intelligence services while she carries a high national security clearance.
Last but not least, the governor and her husband currently own and operate a small commercial fishing business. When the demands of her busy governors schedule will allow, she doesn’t mind working hard by pulling nets while getting her hands dirty picking fish as evidenced by the following link. http://www.youtube.com/watch...
She is well grounded in the knowledge of what it takes to own and operate a small family business, the very backbone of our nations economy.
Simply put, Governor Palin accomplishments are unprecedented. But more importantly Governor Palin’s character is impeccable…a rare trait in today’s political world.
And whether serving as governor of her state negotiating multi billion dollar pipelines for our countries energy future or by pulling nets and picking fish from the cold Alaskan waters along side her husband, she has demonstrated that she is no stranger when it comes to hard work. No matter what the task is at hand, Governor Palin has always proudly served her family, her state and her country…and she has always served with a servant’s heart.
Now who’s the joke? It’s most certainly not Governor Palin.

Of course there's more going on in the world than the next presidential campaign and the juvenile antics of overpriced, overindulged celebrities!

Trouble is, it takes WORK to find out about it. Not so with politicians or celebrities. Pols provide time to reporters for free and will talk endlessly if given the chance -- except when under investigation for something -- and this is especially true for anyone hoping to run in 2012.

Likewise, attention-mongering celebrities -- even if they hide behind dark shades and try to evade photographers -- nevertheless have publicists working for them whose job it is to ensure that some reporter somewhere is writing a story on that celebrity, especially if they have a movie, book or album coming out.

In either case, the story comes to the reporters, they need not actually look for it. Other stories require actual investigation, which takes time and effort.

I definitely think Sarah Palin inspires people in a way like never before because she lives her own message, and has such gumption and spirit. She's unlike those pandering politicians who swing left and right. The real GOP should be exactly what we're trying to get; fiscally conservative (because we know better than gov't where/how to invest our dollars), limited gov't (same reason), and a stalwart to uphold basic values like valuing the life of a child (I'd rather err on the side of NOT killing, than killing) and preserving what a marriage is (between men and women!). I was so disappointed with Colin Powell, Mitt Romney, some of these other politicians who call themselves GOP but are trying to get the Republicans to become "moderate"...

I think a Sarah Palin, Huckabee, Ron Paul, Bobby Jindal ticket might work. I totally dig Sarah Palin, but am not sure if she can be our president. On the principles end, she can and has such character. But on the experience end, she's not there yet and may not be ready by 2012. Just everything that is going on...I doubt even someone with moderate foreign policy/war experience can adeptly handle. I really hope that she broadens her sphere of influence, however, and continues to shine as an example to our generation of a real woman of courage, character, and responsibility.

When is this big wedding taking place?
What about her daughter's future husband?
Was he forced to admit he would marry?
Now that the election is over for 2008, and because Gov. Palin did not make it to the White House, to measure the drapes, are they still getting married?
What of the mother-in-law drug bust.
Is Sarah Palin so blind by politics she dose not know what is going on under her very nose?

I remember during the campaign, she bosted that President Elec Obama, palled around with terrorists. Is not now palling around drug dealers?

WoW, President Sarah Palin for 2012

Well she is up on me, she has raised to high school dropouts. In fact that is an achievement that trumps every family I have ever known. 2 for 2 in high school dropouts with 1 pregnancy as a bonus. I guess some folks don't follow demographics very closely but 100% approval rating among republicans will get you a nice 2nd place in a country where democrats outnumber republicans and a vast moderate middle exists. Selling moderates on a candidate that believes the world has been here for 6k years, man lived w/ dinosaurs and a 12 year old girl raped by her dad should be forced to have a baby is next to impossible but I am sure most Obama fans hope she gives it a try, bygolly.
