The story is correct, but the map location is not. The incident took place near the 600 block of South Street in Suffield, which is Rt 75 between the center of Suffield and the Windsor Locks town line.

Please correct me if I'm wrong but isn't the right most of the area near Austin Rd/St? industrial? Why would someone be trying to cross there?

Still a tragic event either way, and my heart goes out to those affected.

Smart money says it was a Massachusetts driver. They consider Rt 75 to be their personal high-speed short cut from I-91 to the Agawam area.

Rt 75 merges from 4 to 2 lanes just South of the accident area...when the light turns green at Austin St its like the flag dropping at Daytona.
too bad

I wish you had known her I have. A very very dear person to me. I have known Kathy almost 20 yrs. Originally of Bridgewater Mass. Some time ago I moved to the midwest and I havent seen her in many years, and now I will never see her again. I dont know the exact location of where this happened but I do know that there is a farm out there. The house is on one side of the street and the barn is on the other. I have been told by family members that she was crossing the street on her way to the barn. I will miss her more than any mere words of mine can convey.

My family and I have known Kathy for several years, she has worked at that farm where she crosses that road millions of times, there is no excuse for this senceless accident. She was just a few feet from her driveway, there is a street light there, she was wearing white, none of what is reported makes any sence. Why was the mans name that hit her not mentioned in the paper?I seen the car and to me there is no way he was driving only 40 mph.I pray to God that the true story comes to light. There is no way anyone could not have seen someone crossing that road.Unless he was blind.Or of course, the person was doing something wrong.Kathy we all love and miss you so very much. You are at peace now,do not worry about jake and lilly for they are loved and being taken care of.We still have not come to the realization that we will never see your smiling face again..Love you always and forever........Brian,Jake,Lill y,David&Alice....
