Prison Safety Questioned After Death Row Stabbing

A stabbing on death row Wednesday drew state police to a Connecticut prison for the second time in two days, prompting one legislator to express concerns about safety in the system.

Hmmm ... there's only one Waldemar Rivera listed on the DOC website, and he is 28 years old, not 18 or in his 30s.

And Cales may have been sentenced two months ago (April 2, actually), but he has been in prison since 4-7-2006.

I wish the Courant would checks facts like these before it runs the story.

Who cares? I say let them all kill each other and reduce the prison population, that will take care of overcrowding.
