i think menu food should pay for our cat's and dog's .they did not ask for this suffering.we have spent $600.00 on our cat that is still in the vet's with kidney failure. you are darn straight they will pay. my pet's is all i have . most people have kid's well i can't and these were my kid before this company did a very cruel thing to our pet and to some of us our kid's.they knew back in feb. that this was bad. why? is the big question . why did they not pull it then. is it that they were worried about the sale to there company????? well my pet is worth more than your company. if we did not have pets you would not have jobs MENU. you destroyed many lives and took many heart away from us.yes there should be many more lawsuits against them me i will for sure.my cat was less than a year old and all we feed them was special kitty. now i do not buy any store brand name at all. i am afraid to buy any cat or dog food because of the fear and the loss we have already endured we cannot trust MENU FOOD to produce good healthy food for our cat's and dog. sorry but the were my kid's now we are with nothing except greif and sorrow. the company will not call or answer our questions.
thanks RAY OF SALEM VA.

Raymond though I agree they should at least offer to pay for the pets medical bills, and then some extra for mental aguish, they simply cannot afford something that wasn't 100% their mistake in the first place. The only tests that could have detected what was wrong are by the government. Menu didn't/doesn't have the resources to detect that particular contaminant. This should well also be blamed on the import inspectors, they are obligated to test a certain amount of product that comes through from other countries for this type of thing. Menu never got even as much as a warning that the gluten was contaminated. If you want to blame anyone, blame the port inspectors. With that said, Menu Foods did the responsible thing and as quickly as possible sent out a recall, and payed for a campaign for knowledge.
A couple points to notice here:
Menu Foods placed a gag order on Employees, informing us that if we speak about this, it is automatic, and permanent termination of work.
As an employee, I tried to respect this rule, but I just couldn't, I had to let friends/family/anyone know about it, and was terminated within 3 days.

TJJ, addressing your termination due to the gag order, I give you TREMENDOUS credit for being so brave, caring, and conscientious. I would have done the same thing.

I hope you consulted a lawyer about this to see if Menu had the legal authority to place a gag order, and to find out if you were terminated illegally. Perhaps you might have a case; and if you do, I hope you win BIG!

An alternative is to check in your computer for the "EEOC" It is the main Human Resources dept., a branch under the govt., that deals with unlawful termination and discrimination.

According to the pretend labor laws, employers can do or say what ever they want.
However, the EEOC has a different perspective on that.
